thanks lea, for some good ideas to curb my sweet tooth lately. Since Christmas time I've realized that I can have sugar..not alot..but still. And I've been testing the waters too much. I have bought sf cookies, and I eat bananas with cream cheese fruit dip. I made brownies last night for my boys, and I ate one, with peanut butter. So I'm going to look through these ideas and write them down, so I'll have a better choice.
I'm at a point where I eat pretty much anything, but I try to stick to the low-fat, sugar-free stuff... I love SF popsicles (stuck on the root beer ones right now), sometimes I'll have a banana with a spoonful of crunchy peanut butter, SF Jello with SF Cool Whip, or my favorite (right now) is the ice-blended vanilla latte from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf... it's like drinking a coffee shake! Of course, I order decaf and no-sugar added, and no whipped cream, but it's delicious!!
Sometimes, I'm a "bad seed" too, and I'll eat a kiss or a cookie... but that's VERY seldom! I still occasionally feel icky when I eat those kinds of things, and it's not worth chancing!
When I want something sweet like during PMS time I will induldge in just one small Adnes Mint Thin. Just one of those little rectangles. It was something that my gastric bypass surgeon recommended actually (well he recommended a small piece of dark chocolate) and this does the trick for me. It is not often but it helps when that craving comes.
Like I said yesterday I also eat the Barry's Bakery French Twists. They are crunchy and sweet and really hit the spot. I have also done no sugar added ice cream bars or ice cream sandwiches, but have not bought them in a very long time. I also try to keep sugar free pudding or jello cups in the fridge.
