I walk 10-15 minutes before i clock into work and before I start my lunchs and breaks I take a 10 mintue walk.
I've added three days of gym workouts on the machines.
I still walk and bike at home... hike one weekend day... needed more aggressive toning at this point and it's fun!
I park further from work/stores to get a few extra steps in... also do some yard work... I don't know I take the stairs... I'm just more active and sleep very little.
That's about it!
THANK YOU LEA!!! Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Well Lea,
I have a handicap tag for my car. I have bad asthma and really bad knees. Since my WLS I have only parked in the handicapped spaces 2 times. That was because I had a bad cold and the asthma was flaring up. I rarely have any problems now with the knees or the asthma. I walk from the end of a parking lot. I park farthest away from my schoolbus I can and I also like to mix my shopping list up. I don't try and put like things together I will walk from one end of walmart back to the other end many times for extra walking!
I'm going to echo what another poster said. Because I regularly work out at the gym (and/or walk or ride my bike outside when it's decent weather), I don't make too many other concentrated efforts to exercise as part of my routine. But with that said, I do notice that I am just more active in general--I don't think twice about running downstairs to get something--or just walking out in the back yard to pick up twigs after a windy night--or do better housework on a continual basis--or park farther away from buildings--just stuff like that. And when I'm doing active things, I still just marvel at how different it is now and how I'd have been miserable doing the same things 3 1/2 yrs. ago!
I am retired since last May, so it is a challenge to stay physically active (other than workout times). When I worked (h.s. guidance counselor), I was at my desk or just in my office a good portion of the day, but after my wls, I made MUCH more of an effort to just get out and walk around the halls--or physically go find a student to talk to (rather than calling the classroom and having the teacher send a student to my office)--or just go walk around in the cafeteria during lunch to talk to kids--etc.

Hi lEa,
I did not make minor changes...I made major changes. I was walking soon after post-op, then when I was cleared by my surgeon, I started step aerobics twice a week. I wasn't really getiing anywhere fast with that, so I started running every other day on my treadmill and I am up to 20 minutes running non-stop with a 5 minute warm-up! YIPEEEE for me!
I did not make my challenge goal. I am 5 pounds shy. I only lost 9 pounds this month. What did I just say ONLY I amhappy with that, but I was hoping I would see 199 at least bythe end of the round. I did twice but less than 24 hours each time. This morning I was at 200.2 GRRRRRRRRRR!
Here's to the next round. This challenge thing is fun! I LOVE IT!

Hi Lea!
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make as many changes as I'd like, but now that I just dropped a class at school, I see the gym in my near future.
I am a full time student, with two part time jobs. At school, I have no choice but to park a 1/2 mile or more away, so I walk that four time a week, to classes and back. Then I also take the stairs now instead of the elevator in my building. I also, when I have time, have been getting slowly back into yoga at home.
I bowl on Tuesday nights, and am starting that back up next week. That counts too! LOL
