Well, little things I guess. Like at work, I used to let all my faxes pile up until the end of the day and then make one trip to the fax machine. Now, after I get a fax ready to go out, out I go. So now I am up and out of my chair and walking 2-3 times an hour. Michele

I park further from the store and office. I will take the stairs instead of the elevator (if I feel safe). I carry the laundry baskets up the two flights to the bedrooms instead of making hubby do it and vice versa...bringing them down to the basement as well. I am cleaning my house more times per week rather than saving it up for the weekends...a little vacuuming here, a little dusting there... At work I am back and forth to the copier all day long rather than saving it all up....I will also take the long way around the shop to get where I am going..it is also good to get away from ones desk.

I definitely don't drive around, and around, and around, AND around the parking lot to find the NEAREST space to the door when I go shopping. I use the bathroom at the furthest end of the building at work. I go up and down the stairs now without a second thought...before I never would go back upstairs before bed time.

Honestly because I do 60-90 minutes of excercise a day I haven't made any other changes. With being a teacher I do a lot of walking around as it is.

Most of my changes have been made gradually, without thought. I also get up more often from my desk (a co-worker pointed that out to me today!), I park wherever I find the first space, go upstairs often throughout my day. I play active games with my nephews, but we still read books before bed I love that I move without thinking (and without hurting) now. It's a freedom I've never felt before!

Nothing new in terms of ideas... park farther away from destination make more trips up and down stairs at home stairs instead of elevator stand at my desk instead of sit set up and go out for recess duty everyday sit ups on exer-ball while watching tv Christy

The minor change I made that has a HUGE impact was finding a workout buddy! When I did it on my own it was easy to make excuses not to exercise. She is keeping me on track and accountable. I wish I had found her years ago. Only two weeks working out together and we have so much fun I hate to miss out!
