Daily Post--2/5/08
I will keep checking everyone's answers on this one, as I can use a better system than mine. I just keep my day pills on the kitchen counter as a reminder. The specific pills I take at bedtime are on the bathroom counter. Sounds simple enough, right? Unfortunately, since I retired last May, I am out & about so much, not tied to a regular routine, and (more often than I want to admit), I miss a dose. Or two.
It does seem like when everything is working together--daily exercise, good food choices/portions, plenty of liquids--I'm also better about my vitamins. That old "all or nothing" thinking.

I have one of those "M T W..." things too, and I take my morning pills pretty regularly. It's the evening ones I usually forget (iron and fish oil).
One day, as I rushed out in the morning, I handed my Biotin to my 6 y.o. nephew to hold for me until we got to the car (I take him to school) - my hands were full... and forgot about them. They were in his pocket, and as soon as he started school, he remembered and gave them to his teacher. We had to go get them right away, as the school has a "no tolerance" rule for "drugs". I explained that they were just vitamins, but I don't think they believed me!
I use a pill organizer (M-T-W etc.) for morning and night. I fill it once weekly. I don't put my calcium in it as it is too big so I always take one calcium as soon as I get up, then have breakfast and get ready for work. By the time I am ready to go to work it has been 1 hour + from my Calcium so I take my other morning vits. I put another Calcium in my pocket to take at noon, I take one as soon as I get home and after an hour or so I take my evening vits. I take another Calcium at bedtime or have it handy in the bathroom for when my bladder thinks it need to get up once a night. I take 4 Calcium a day. I have a small round container that I set them in first thing in the morning so I know how many I have taken. NOW after all of this---I have to agree with someone else who said that it is the ROUTINE that works. Julia
