I think it is due to the fact that we go through a detox process. Once our bodies are rid of the high levels of fat, sugar, sodium, caffiene etc. different signals are sent to our brains, as a result our receptors react differently than they would have pre-surgery. I also think that a part of it is strictly psychosomatic.

I have absolutely no idea. Guess I'm a lucky one though, my tastes haven't changed a bit. Cheers!

Hi Lea, I am not sure why but my guess is our outlook maybe? You have to train your mind to have a new and different outlook on your relationship with food, so maybe this might have some kind of impact???? Maybe it's because the anatomy switcharoo???? It hasn't changed my thinking about fish! I hate fish, the smell of it makes me gag! Katy

Without years of reasearch this is an unanswerable queation, However i like evryones theories. My theory is you get used to what you eat and right after surgery youold you no to, so you begin to like the healthy stuff.

Good question! I havent had much of a difference in taste, except for Tuna. I used to eat Tuna all the time and now I cant even stand the smell! Hopefully it doesnt happen with too many other foods! LB
