OMG, I have to pick ONE food as a preop? I had lots of foods that were trigger foods for me. Like Oreos (I could eat the whole package), certain kinds of cereals like Cinnamon Life or Apple Jacks (I could eat the whole box). Junk food was my biggest struggle. Now, as a postop, my favorite food for a meal would have to be shrimp with either low carb ****tail sauce or Newman's Own Mango Salsa. I have a box of Murray's sugar free ginger snaps in house and a package of Sugar Free Coffee Nips candies, but I'm very careful about how much of those I have. No big surprise why things have changed. I had my stomach cut in half, and those things I once loved will make me SO SICK now. It's not even a temptation. So, bye, bye, and farewell, and on to new things I will love even more, like fitting into a pair of jeans I haven't worn in three years. I did that about two weeks ago, and now they're loose on me. Postop Life is Good.

My favorite food pre-op was anything fried....Chicken, french fries o-rings ect.. Hamburgers piled high with mayo, let, tom....stir frys chicken or beef..... Post-op these foods could easily still be favorites but they all get stuck. I don't even think about them any more becausse stuck food is so painful! Slimming and PB'ING isn't fun.I now eat very carefully and I think about how it might go down or back up in some cases! I do like the results of these foods not liking me much. I am having some good loses on the scales latly since I got a tiny yweek on Dec 27th.. I had a .1 fill.I weighed 209 then so I can not weight to post this week. Karen

My favorite pre-op foods were BBQ Ribs and Pizza. My favorite foods now are chili, taco insides and filet mignon. I havent tried pizza or BBQ Ribs as a post-op, but I do know that my taste has changed dramatically. LB

My absolute favorite food as a preop was pizza, any type of pasta and hot french bread right out of the oven with butter on it. Now my favorite food is chicken strips I make at home with some tabassco sauce. I know my tastes had to change sfter surgery because I tried to eat pasta (one bite) when I was about 6 months out and I got so sick and dumped bad on it. There is no way that I want that feeling to happen again so I just stay clear of any type of pasta, rice and when we have pizza I eat the toppings but never the crust. That dumping feeling with the throwing up, the sweats, and the stiomach pain is the worst I have ever felt even compared to all the times I have had the flu or whatever. Michelle

OMG only one!!!! I would say it's steak, I love steak and would of had it every night if I could of afforded it. Now I can't eat any cut of it everytime I try a little tiny piece it feels like it sit in my stomach like a rock or should I say a pebble. I also want to add chocolate cake with a ton of chocolate icing and for obvious reason I can no longer eat that either, unless I want to feel like I'm having a heart attack! Joni

Okay, I have a list too. I could live on the Mighty Java Bean alone, but know variety is the spice of life. Pre-op food: All Seafood Salads Vietnamese - Bun Combination over rice vermicelli, Claypot Combination Thai - Chicken Satay w/peanut sauce, Pad Thai Combination, Tom Kha Italian - Chicken Parmigiano Californian - All seafood/salads/grilled chicken Japanese - Eel, Hamachi, Salmon bento box, Edamame, Miso Cuban - Flan (calabasa & traditional), black beans & rice Post-op food: Iced NF lattes (Java is my passion), AchievOne (all flavors), All Seafood (love sashimi), Edamame, Miso, Grilled Chicken w/salad, Chicken Satay w/peanut sauce, Vegan/Vetarian foods, EXTRA gum (winterfresh) I stick to the plan... lean protein first then complex carbs. (vegetables, some fruits, whole grains). I eat simpler foods now, easy for my new system to handle.

My favorite food was anything Mexican. I still enjoy it post-op but just in lots different quantities!!! the food that was my second favorite that I have given up is traditional Lasagna. Just not worth the carbs in all those noodles. Gayle

Oh my, Lea! My very favorite pre-op food--this is about the hardest question so far!! I truly can't get it down to just one, so I'll at least try to list just a few: pizza (any kind, any time, anywhere, worldwithoutend!), Steak 'n Shake burger and fries, and anything remotely in the bread family (including not only nice warm bread & rolls, but also pastries & donuts--I would kill for a fresh-baked Krispy Kreme glazed donut). And . . . my very favorite dessert--rhubarb pie! Golly, I'm dying here! At 3 1/2 yrs. post-op, I have eaten all of the above foods; however (big however), I eat them very infrequently and in MUCH smaller quantities! I do indulge in my favorite burger and have pizza nearly every mo., but the other old favorites--very, very seldom, simply because they are pretty much 100% empty calories that make me feel extremely guilty. I still love them though. A couple of my favorite foods that are a regular part of my routine now are cottage cheese--I LOVE it mixed w/ a little dry sf jello OR a little dry sf pudding; my daily oatmeal w/ some blueberries and chopped almonds added; and eggs "fried" in Pam, chopped up w/ some cheese, and eaten on a piece of whole wheat toast; and sliced apple wedges w/ red. fat peanut butter smeared on them! (As you can see, my favorites are really easy stuff!) Jo

Before it was BREAD and anything with pasta!! I lived on sandwiches. Now I want it so bad but both bread and pasta after a few bites.. is my undoing..If you know what I mean. Now my favorite is soups.. Especially if they have tomato in it.. and meat of course. The only chicken and pasta I can handle is the Chicken Noodle soup at Dennys. I try to manevor people there if I am eating out. The reason it is different I am sure is the fact. That those things were what added to my Obesity in the first place.. and it is my body's way of saying DON"T DO IT AGAIN!!! Alice
