Walking on the treadmill at a speed of at least 3.5 mph at an incline of at least 6.5. I can't do running yet because of old injuries to my ankles. When I can, I expect that will be even better for weight loss. Elliptical is also a great calorie burner, but I can't do it for as long as I can walk.

I don't exercise as often as I should... but when I do, it has to be something I enjoy. I like yoga, and I find it to be a great stress reliever (and tones your muscles!).

I don't think there is just one exercise that works better than another but I think it all depends on the person as each one of us is different. As for me I do alot of treadmill and water aerobics (in the summer) that has been helpful to me. Michelle

Step Aerobics. I don't like how they are teaching it now, so I have taken up running. And I am not losing anything. I run every other day and have been for about a month now. I am only down 4 pounds. :o(

I would say for immediate effect, running, and for long term maintainance, weight lifting.

Jazzercise 2 days a week for and hour. Weightlifting class 3 times a week for an hour each. Treadmill 4 times a week for 25 minutes. I enjoy exercise...especially dancing with Jazzercise!!!

I lose around 2 inches a week average. However, if I"m able to go out dancing on a Saturday night, I'll lose about 4-5 inches on that Monday. I love getting out for a girl's night and staying on the dance floor. haven't done that in a while. Should be about time, lol.

Can I still get in on yesterdays' post? I've been posting every day and just didn't realize I hadn't answered yest's question--was gone all day and until about 9:00, and then I just plopped down with the mail, checked e-mail from my kids, and forgot about this! By far, I get the most calories burned from the elliptical machine at the gym. I know those calorie counts aren't totally accurate, but since this is how I get the biggest "bang for my buck," I spend the majority of my cardio time on this machine. Less time on the treadmill (which I find hideously boring, even w/ the TV that's attached!) and the recumbent bike. Now I'll have to remember to answer TODAY'S question when it's posted! Jo
