Today is my 17 mos surgiversary! 17 mos and 205 pounds gone. I've never regretted having the surgery (well, not after that first week of thinking "what in the heck have I done??" LOL) and would definitely do it again. On Feb 16th, I am walking a 5 mile leg in a marathon relay and am committing to getting my butt moving again today, Jan 29th. I have to get going again so that I don't absolutely feel like dying on Feb 17th! I will be walking outdoors no matter how the weather is. I would love some suggestions for music to use as I walk. I had heard that there was a set of songs intended to help you keep a certain pace as you walk. Anyone heard of that?? Today's question is: What are your fave workout songs? This can be for walking OR other cardio OR weight/resistance workouts... Whatever! Lea

I dont have any "fave" songs, but the requirements have to be that it be fast and up tempo. Cant work out to a slow song... my pace decreases and i drag... no fun. Krissy AKA NavyWife25

It just has to be fast, upbeat, and it helps if I can sing along! If all else fails, the theme song to Rocky will get you motivated! :P Christy

My favorite one that came up on my mp3 Saturday was "Hey Sexy Lady". I mean really, don't we all wanna be that sexy lady? It puts a little more wiggle in my hips, which burns more calories! denise

Believe it or not, Madonna's oldest songs have the perfect beat for me when I walk on the treadmill.

I use a lot of the 80's. Bon Jovi, Warrant, Aerosmith, Def Leopard...I know I sound like an 80's band groupie, but I actually prefer country. I just can't find country songs that work. Other favorite artists for working out include Pink, Christina Aguilera, and Maroon 5. Good luck on your marathon...I plan on doing a Shamrock 5K next year. I just don't think I am ready this year.

At my gym, you can plug your headset into the machine that you are on and listen to the TV. Yo pick a channel and watch and listen. Its helpful with making the time go by! If I am walking outside I like to keep my workout music upbeat so my pace stays upbeat! LB

Congratulations, Lea! You've done a great job! I don't listen to music when I walk - that's my reflection time. I use it to mull over whatever issues I have going on, pray, think, or just empty my head and enjoy nature! When I'm working out, I am watching a DVD, so there's instrumental music in the background - but nothing exciting. Years ago, I belonged to a gym for awhile, and always listened to Madonna or Michael Jackson - of course, it was the 80s!! Good luck with the marathon!
