I thought I responded to this yesterday, but I must have forgotten to hit "post this." Anyway, I remember writing that so far the best thing WLS has given me is HOPE. Hope that this is the time it's going to work. Hope that this is the time I'll get healthy and fit. Hope that this is the time I'll get to the place where I'm comfortable in my own skin! Hope that I'll reach my goals. In a word, hope.

The best thing for me is that my outside finally feels like my insides. Not that everything is perfect it takes hard work but it is so worth everything. My body doesn't hurt, I can things I never could before. Hate to say it but people do treat you different when your heavy. It suxed going from being skinny as a teen to being heavy as an adult! Now I am at a happy medium! Life is good!

The best thing about being post-op is (of course) losing weight! I also love being freed from my addiciton to food... I no longer obsess over what I'm going to eat.

OMG...I am SO happy to report here! I just got a call from my cardiologist's office. I h ad an echocardiogram done last week and they compared it to one from one year ago. My heart strength has GREATLY improved!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a heart attack and a triple bypass surgery i***** so I was really hoping this test would turn out good. My doctor was extremely pleased. My WLS surgery was responsible for this. Other than that, I would have to say my self confidence and self esteem is much improved as well. I am so happy! Jolene

Well, let's start with the fact that I am NOT hungry and don't care about eating anymore! NEVER thought I would be able to say that!!! Being done with all the meds that I took preop, like not being diabetic anymore!!! Feeling "normal" when out in public meaning I don't feel like the "fat one" that everyone is looking at and talking about! Being able to do soooo much more than I was preop. It is nice to be able to keep up with my family!!!
