Okay, going to stick with food again... What happens when you eat something you should not? I'm not talking about "Oh gosh, I ate a twinkie!" necessarily... If that makes you dump, then you can include that sort of thing. But, I'm talking about foods that make you feel ill or have some adverse reaction, not the times we eat something that we know we shouldn't (because of what it is) and will pay the price in carbs... I tried a crusty piece (not the doughy center) of focaccia bread with marinara dipping sauce... it hit my small intestines funny... cramping... my nut said it was minor dumping... so this girl's off the white stuff, which is fine by me... Also had a salad at The Cheesecake Factory... light on the dressing... it was too sweet... only ate a little... same intestinal thing... and I slept for 2 1/2 hours... so this girl's off the sweet stuff too. Haven't tested anything else... don't want to fail. So if you're out there, and you're sweet/white... LOL!!! I even had to rename my roadster from 'Sugar' to 'Splenda!' Now, that's dedication! Thanks Lea! Kim

So far, I haven't dumped on anything except sugar free preserves. It was the most awful feeling, I was with my family playing Bunco and my heart started racing, I got dizzy, I got nausea and I had to go lay down for about 10 minutes. Other than that the only issues i've had are from eating TOO MUCH... and that just makes my tummy uncomfortable cuz i dont (cant) vomit. Krissy AKA NavyWife25

I ate chicken the other night. I chewed it up real good but still had a filling like something was notted up in my stomach and that went of for a couple of hours. When I drank some tea it came right backup and the I waited and drank again and started getting that nausea feeling like I was going to vomit and about 20 minutes later you would have though I drank a whole cup of tea. Finally some of the chicken to put in bluntly came up and I was ok.

I went out to eat for the 1st time yesterday at Bob Evans and I haven't tried salad yet so I was trying to avoid that, I ended up eating a piece of my mom's fried chicken meal and 1/2 her baked potato. I felt fine for about an hour after I ate it. We had gone shopping afterwards and we were in a store and then it just hit me like a ton of bricks. My stomach started hurting and with each step I took it got worse and worse. I knew I had to get to a bathroom and FAST! I started to feel sick to my stomach. I JUST barely made it to the bathroom in time. I felt a little better but of course I knew I had to go home and lay down for awhile and then after I did, I started to feel better but I didn't eat anything else the rest of the night, I just drank a protein shake. I know now that I can NOT eat anything that has been fried! (of course I should have known that to begin with!!)

From the beginning I have been very fortunate in that I can tolerate all the foods I try. I have only felt ill (I wouldn't call it dumping) twice. The first time was on Thanksgiving after I ate a few bites of corn. So there went me trying the mashed potatoes or stuffing, right? I also felt extremely ill a few weeks ago after eating a SMALL bite of bacon. I thought I was going to die...my stomach was cramping so bad I thought I might pass out. No dizzies or throwing up just really bad cramping. Also, if I don't chew up my chicken good enough I can get a piece stuck and that hurts really bad. I usually cry afterwards because I think each time it gets stuck, I am stretching the opening to my stomach.

Three different occurances: Evil chicken (or any too dense protein sometimes), doughy bread, most anything South Beach but especially their pizzas (I think it's the soy flour): heavy feeling under the ribs and eventually must come back up. This also happens with that one bite too many or eating too quickly. Things with too much fat/sugar content or too many sugar alcohols or milk: queasiness/pain in pouch and in sides (probably the intestines both left and right). Eventual gas/diahrrea (sp.) Sugar - this is bad and can be dangerous - dizziness, near blackout, chills, must nap for 20 minutes or so. This has happened only 2-3 times and with "straight" sugar, in quick absorption forms: a SF Panera coffee drink that was not SF, hard regular candy on an empty stomach, and juice. What's fascinating about this reaction is it does not happen with sugar mixed into other ingrediens, say a cookie.

I've been lucky so far because nothing has really made me dump, or sick. I haven't pushed the limits though. I did have one little square of chocolate once for dessert (so I had protein in my stomach) and I was ok with that. I've had scrambled eggs cooked in a little butter, and meats browned in a little canola oil, but nothing deep fried (except for a handful of potato chips). A couple of times I got a rock hard feeling in my pouch after I ate a few bites of chicken with lettuce and tomato, so I've been avoiding the lettuce lately. I have "foamed" up a couple of times when I ate too much. I'm learning my limits.

I really never know when it's going to hit me...usually..it's because I forget and don't chew enough..or eat too fast...doesn't happen much...but I end up having to get sick..I try not to, and it just puts me in alot of misery until I give in...thank god it doesn't happen too much.

I tried one small drink of Mudslide New Years.. just to see. Boy was I sleepy and yukky!! Something I can not eat is chicken. I throw up and throw up . Last weekend I tried again. I ate one wing from KFC.. original style.. and potato salad with big junks of pickle and onion in it.. and carrots and celery raw.. the chicken came up and nothing else. Finally had a cup of tea.. to settle my tummy. The hostess did not have meat tenderizer..or would have used that. I think I will put a bottle of it in my glove compartment. The only way I have been able to eat it is those little prepackaged spreads from the canned meat aisle. Bread gets to me to. If it is toasted or dry (hard) I can nibble on it.. and it is Ok.. but only a few nibbles. Until this last few days I had avoided fresh fruit because awhile back it really dumped me out. Now I am starting to experment a little. I never was much of a fruit eater but I do know it is so good for you.
