Daily Post--1/26/08
I will be 3 months out on 01/29 and am so happy to say that for the last 2 weeks I have had no issues with meat! My Dr. said eat meat at 6 weeks - easier said than done:P Early on all I could stand was Talapia and Ground beef if it was in Chilli. So I stuck to cheese and beans.
Keep in mind that I am only eating 3-3 oz. I eat 6 oz of meat and cheese (I try for meat because it has higher protien.) a day and 3 oz of fiber.
I love roast. I just bought 4 maranaids and a bag of bonless skinless chicken today for the slow cooker. I got garlic and herb, Teriki, Asian ginger and garlic and carabian jerk. I also bought some non breaded chicken wings - look for the healthy ones and some buffalo chicken sauce. All of this I plan to cook in the slow cooker. If I make a meal out of it so my husband is eating I will add veggies.
When eating out I stick to 3 oz of meat and give the rest to my friend or husband.
P F Changes Spicy chicken is a great one when eating out. Ask for extra sauce.
I have had ribs with light BBQ - Very tender in slow cooker or from Texas Roadhouse. Love fresh white fish. Talapia is so good and is wonderful with the asian glaze. Make at home or go to Red Lobster.
I can't tolerate beef, pork and most chicken. Sliced chicken breast from the deli is doable as is ham. Most of my protein comes from seafood sources, like shrimp, salmon, tuna. I buy the flash frozen packages to have on hand and then I get whatever's on sale at the fish counter. This week it was Steelhead Trout, so I've eaten that for about three meals this week. I also do egg subsitute. Cheese tends to be quite, umm, BINDING. So I stay away from it.
I start the day with a scrambled egg with a little cheese sprinkled on it, or oatmeal made with milk instead of water, or cottage cheese pancakes. Lunch is usually leftovers from dinner the night before. And I've made all kinds of things for dinner. Just about anything I was eating before I can eat now, only in MUCH smaller quantities! Like last night I made chicken stew in the crockpot. The night before it was taco pie, we're having steak tomorrow night. I always eat the protein first and then maybe a couple of bites of veggies.
As for REAL food... SEAFOOD... LOVE sashimi, peel and eat shrimp, ahi poke, grilled chicken breast on salad, edamame... jerky... vanilla almonds... I'm a calorie slave... I do love all types of cheeses only was advised to limit due to fat content...
Guilty here... I prefer my AchievOne -20g protein... Starbucks iced NF latte - 10g protein... these make me feel like I'm cheating, only I'm not!!!
Thank you!
