Back to a food topic today! Feel free to include recipes here! Today's Question: What kind of high protein foods do you eat to get enough of the require protein? This question is about REAL FOOD, not protein drinks and/or bars... For me, a big part of my diet is meat and cheeses come in a close second. I have no tolerance issues with dairy, so I eat a lot of cheese--both as part of a meal as well as when looking for a high protein snack. I eat a lot of beef! I only wish that all the beef I eat was doing something for my low iron stores! Lea

Hi there...I am not officially "eating" yet...but when I can I am soooo very hopeful that my new tummy will like any of the following: cheese, eggs, tuna and maybe a little peanut butter...these sound like filet mignon to me right now...and I would love a spoonful .. Does anyone have experience with peanut butter? Does it usually go down ok post surgery?

I make coffee or chocolate milk with a cup of mootopia ..its lactose free milk with more protien then regular milk and it tastes fine. I also have live active cheese if i feel like a snack i'll grab a couple of pieces ..its 110 calories for 7 cubes. i usually have 2 or 3 a couple of times a day. I like the boca burgers with a slice of avocado and a slice of tomato and sometimes a slice of red pepper. tuna patties are yummy but are kind of high on calories. cottage cheese with fruit and some splenda. I found these bluebunny yogurts made with splenda .. only 50 calories they are soooo good i buy vanilla and add what ever fruit i have on hand. Pre-cooked chicken fajitas are great in anything! And so easy, just pop them in the microwave for a min and you've got intafajitas and no mess! turkey bacon is a yummy snack turkey sausage is great with bean soup or on top of tortilla pizza. I could probobly go on and on.

I found a cheesestick that I really enjoy... it's called Marbellicious (made by Black Diamond).

Since I am still not holding solids down real good I went back to my mushy phase so I tend to eat alot of refried beans with well grounded hamburger, homemade chili with lots of beans, yogurt, and cheese. I can eat steak if its real tender in very small bites too. That about does it for me Kellie

Ditto to what you said Lea ... I eat mostly meet and cheese. I also have no difficulties with dairy so LF cheese is a biggie with me. i also eat a lot of red meat - my pouch likes it!! Chicken and pork can sit a little funky with me at times, but beef is always ok. I make a lot of stirfry's too, marinating stirfry beef and chicken in different marinades and then making up like .75 lb and eating it for a few days! YUMMY!

Meat, cheese, yogurt, eggs, fish, chicken ~ as long as I eat slowly and chew well, I haven't found anything I can't tolerate. Also, for snacks once in a while ~ almonds. Jules
