My favorite one was in teh Wal Mart check out line. The lady asked why I chose the organizer I had. I was explaining all of it's features, including the health and fitness section. She says "Yeah, like you've ever had to worry about what you eat or how much exercise you do." Then a lady at support group said "It's hard to believe you ever had a weight problem".
These things strike me as odd, because I know where I was 6.5 months ago. What is really odd for me is at work. I am wearing 8s and 10s. Women, gorgeous women, will come through the line buying these cute outfits and stuff. I look at the tags on their clothes, and they're buying sizes bigger than me. It's hard for me tor comprehend that they're bigger than me, or that I'm smaller than them. Wierd.

One of the guys at work told me I was hot then said "not that you didn't look good before" I laughed. Another guy at work told me that he wanted to give me a totally non-sexual compliment then said that I get better looking every day. The guys at work crack me up sometimes, but still I thought they were sweet- I mean it usually takes guys a while to really notice any change...
Hi Lea,
Was from a girl on my bus run... She asked me where my run was last year and I told her, she said that was my bus but I don't remember you being my driver... so I showed her a picture of me from last year and she said OMG and I told her that I had lost 110 lbs (at the time that's what it was) and she said OMG, your my hero!!

Two stick out in my memory - one was last spring, when my brother came to visit. It had been about six months since I'd seen him. I was waiting outdoors when he drove up, and he got out of the car and said "wow - I didn't realize that was you waiting there! You're so little!"
The other was recently, when I read my daughter's MySpace ramble about her reflections on 2007. (yep, she's a lot like me!!)....
Chrysti talked about what she'd done in 2007, and one of the many accomplishments was having lost more than 60 pounds - but she also said that she had spent the year getting to know her mother again, and enjoying what she found. (We've never been apart for more than a day or two, so I know she refers to the "new" person I found underneath everything.)
I love it when people recognize my voice, not my face, and say "Becky, is that you?" priceless!!! I've heard a lot of people say I look many years younger too, that is nice!
But my best WOW moment so far was when my own father didn't recognize me. He said "hi, how are you?" and didn't know he was talking to his own daughter!! He hadn't seen me in a year and hadn't seen any of the pictures of me since surgery. It was the ultimate in coolness!!!! If I'm not with my husband and/or girls people don't recognize me and I LOVE IT!!!! big hugs, Becky
The best comments I get are from one of my managers at work. He just has a real heart-felt way of saying things like, 'Anna, you are really looking good', or once he touched my face (Ugh! I know!) and said 'You have really lost a lot of weight right here' on my cheek. He apologized for touching my face, lol, but it was OK. We are pretty good friends.

Being 3 years out, I strangely have forgotten how I looked at 238 pounds. But, once in a blue moon, someone who hasn't seen me "gushes" at my weight loss. Strangely, this happened yesterday afternoon when a teacher from a local preschool visited my elementary school and didn't quite recognize me upon me greeting her. It was so nice to hear her tell me how great I look--I tend to forget, and beat myself up with the last 20 pounds I'd like to lose. Hearing her positive feedback made my day as it is no longer a frequent experience like it was in the early days following WLS.
