By far my 7 year old grandson, He always hugs me and has never said that he could not reach his hands, but a month or so ago, he hugged me and was sooo exicted that he could reach all the around me and his hands touched, he was so excited, but I was more excited seeing him that happy.. To me that was worth more and everything else that anyone could say..
I'm 57, so my favorite comments have been about how young I look now! Since I am 3 1/2 yrs. post-op, I've received many compliments on my size, but a couple stand out. Last year, one of my students' parents peeked her head into my office (guidance office) and said, "Jo, I can't get over how you look so much younger--like when you guys first moved to town!" (about 35 yrs. ago). I got another similar one in a Christmas card this year--one of my college friends (whom I've always kept in contact with but have not seen since college) said my family photo I sent this year reminded her of how I looked in college.
When one of my daughters got married (summer of 06), I was at my lowest post-op weight of 155. My 2 daughters & I were talking about weight (they are both small), and I made some comment about how I realized I still was overweight. One of them said, "Mom, you just don't get it--you are tiny!" (I know I wasn't "tiny," but I just loved it!)
Even when I know the comments aren't accurate, I don't care! I love hearing them! Now if I could just get some of this re-gained weight off!!
