I am shamed by all the great workouts you guys do!
I walk every day, and try to workout on my Bean at least four or five times a week - depends on my Partylite schedule, quite honestly... I do a Yoga class once a week...
Early out, I justified the "no formal exercise" by saying that I was much more active than prior to WLS, so that should count... it really doesn't. My stalls were much less frequent and lasted fewer days when I began actively exercising, and after a couple of weeks, I actually enjoyed myself. Now, I miss my walks when I'm too busy to break, and I really do feel more energetic when I've done a formal workout! Yes, I still count my weekly trips to Disneyland as exercise, but I try to get real workouts in, too!
Hope you got home safely, Lea!
In the past six months I have found I really enjoy exercising. My regimen includes cardio (30 min.) 6-7 times a week, weight training 3-4 times a week, and pilates 2 times a week. After I drop another 40lbs or so I will probably get a personal trainer to help me firm up what I can.
I subscribed to 2 fitness magazines and have been gaining lots of great tips and advice from them!
I try for 5 days per week of exercise...typically 45-60 minutes of cardio (running on the treadmill or outside at 5mph for 40 minutes along with 10-15 minutes of warm up/cool down, elliptical).
I know I need to get going on strength training, but it's not an area of comfort in terms of the machines/free weights. I have taken a muscle conditioning class a couple of times a week, but really didn't like it--that said, I know it's critical to build muscle. I was thinking of working with a personal trainer for a couple of sessions to learn techniques.
