Posting EARLY today to make up for being so danged late yesterday! We're going to carry on with exercise as a theme today too. We were asked what five minute exercises we can try to do throughout the day to help burn calories? When I read this, I took it to mean things like doing stretches while waiting on the copy machine to finish OR doing wall pushups for five minutes just to get up out of your desk chair and get moving for a bit... Anyone else? Lea

I do a lot of conference calls during my job and wear a headset when I call in from my office. I like to stand up and do squats to get the heart rate up a little bit and keep the old blood flowin'...

I use walking round the grocery store or doing any of my arrands a my exersize routine. Even cleaning the house does something to those nasty calories.

I stretch my legs, and my arms while i am sitting at work.. When I am at home watching T.v, I will get on the floor and do some stretches during the commericals.. but I usually just fast forward the commericals.. Other then that, I wish that someone has some good ideas.

I make it a point to leave my desk once a day to walk around the parking lot (about 15 minutes) every day. If I have time, I'll make a quick trip from my desk downstairs and back up again just to get the blood flowing... sometimes, I'll stand in the ladies' room in front of the mirror and do a little yoga (when no one else is in there!!) Hi, I work in a nursing home, so when ever I have to go to the other floor I take the stairs and not the elevator. I run up and down the stairs. And during my break I do it a few times each. Claudia

I try to take the stairs instead of the elevator or park the car far away from wherever I am going. Anything just to get a little more movement in, even when my schedule is hectic! Christy

The only thing I do now is park further away from the front door, and once in awhile I'll take a walk around the building when I'm at the office on Monday and Friday (I work from home Tues, Wed, and Thurs). Not much, and not very exciting. Maybe I'll incorporate some other's suggestions.

1) I park in one of the furthest spaces in the parking lot at work or when at stores, so I walk more. 2) At work and in the car, I tighten my abs and cheeks... (it works!!) 3) I work for a corporation, so the building's large, I walk to the furthest point for water, restroom, ice and take the stairs. You get the picture... the long way. 4) I break out into dance 5) I do the old ballet stretches I learned from years of training as a child... one NEVER forgets these...

I have added two things to my everyday routine. One is I always take the stairs at work instead of the elevator. The second is, when I go to the grocery store or the mall, I park in the VERY last parking space, grab a cart, and walk as fast as possible to the store, around the store while shopping and then back to the car. My kids laugh at me for parking so far away and have to run to keep up with me!
