Today's post is a bit of a change from the topics we've been covering... What has been the most positive thing about losing weight for you? This can be for preops AND postops. Losing weight changes things regardless of how you lost it! Lea

Hi everybody! Im new, just joined ya all yesterday, but wanted to jump in and answer this question. There are so many positive things that have happened due to the loss of so much weight, but the first and foremost is, IM HEALTHY for the first time in years! I suffered from severe edema and congestive heart failure for years, in and out of hospitals. My feet and legs were always so swollen that I could hardly walk anywhere. Now, two years after surgery, I never swell and I even wear strappy heels and sandals! I can walk miles without pain or breathlessness. I can even bend over and put on my own socks and tennis shoes!!! I knew that the surgery would change my life, but I never realized exactly how much. Im a whole new person, and thats exciting! Blessings Betsy

Well I've only lost about 50 pounds so far, but I'm already more comfortable. More comfortable with everyday things...like going up and down stairs, in and out of the car, taking shower, out in public, in bed, everywhere! Just more comfortable. I love it!

I guess not being a diabetic anymore. Feeling better about myself, feeling I might actually be 'pretty'. Better sexual positions are also hot

Most positive thing about losing, honestly? Having NO REGRETS!!! I'm living and being fully present! In every aspect of my life... Kim

The most positive aspect of losing 100+ lbs. for me is the increase in energy. I am a full time teacher, consultant, and I just completed my masters degree going to school full time while teaching.

The thing that has been the most AWESOME about this whole journey is that I've finally found something that's going to work for me. And the way that has changed my whole relationship with food is astonishing. Before, I would eat whatever I wanted and feel really deprived if I couldn't have what I wanted. Now I make food choices based on what's best for my body. I still enjoy my food, don't get me wrong, but when I consider my food choices, the choices are made for slightly different reasons.

It would be impossible for me to have only one thing. There are many, many reasons.. 1) My health (off all medications for heart, blood pressure, cholesteral) 2) Clothes! I love them (who knew) 3) Energy, I don't have an off switch anymore. 4) Self esteem This is just a few reasons and these are in no particlar order except the first one. Alice
