Daily Post--1/9/08
My biggest goal is to be able to see myself for who I am now and not the person that weighed 325lbs. Another goal is to be able to go on runs with my teenage son...he is so dang fast that right now I would never be able to keep up (he runs a mile in less than 5 minutes). My last goal is to get to my goal weight of 150.
My boys have been certified to scuba dive for several years and have wanted me to do it with them. 70 pounds ago, I wouldn't even think of it, but in April I am getting certified and the end of May we are going to Cozumel (school trip, partly funding the trip!) and I am going scuba diving with my kid!

My 1st short-term goal is to lose 20 of my re-gained lbs. I don't really care if I get completely down to my lowest weight; I think I could be satisfied if I could just lose that much and maintain it. This week I have gotten my eating back under control and kind of forgot how good I feel and how good the food tastes when I'm eating the way I should be!
My 2nd short-term goal is to get re-committed to my exercise routine, which I have been pretty faithful to for 3 yrs. but which I totally abandoned from right after T-giving til this week. I'm doing good this week, so hopefully my lapse is over!
I honestly don't have any really big long-term goals other than to not let little re-gains become big ones. (My total re-gain was about 35 lbs.) I have been so happy since my surgery almost 3 1/2 yrs. ago and have enjoyed so many big & little things that I never thought I would again. I was 54 when I had my wls, so after so many years of obesity, I have been reduced to tears of joy over some of the littlest things! I still get such a kick out of clothes shopping, crossing my legs, toweling off after a shower without being sweaty when I'm done, not worrying about what chair to sit in, being able to easily wear panty hose, and a hundred other things that people take for granted. And my biggest joy is that I now have the energy to play with my little grandsons (2 of them have been born since my surgery).
