I am such a creature of habit!!
My surgeon got me in the habit of waiting 90 minutes after every meal to drink, so my day is very broken up - and after about 90 minutes of not eating or drinking anything, I subconciously start biting my lip. When I become aware of it, I know it's time to go get my water!
In the beginning, I took three 20 oz bottles of water to work each day and just knew they had to be gone before I left work. Once I eat dinner at night, I'm pretty much done with liquids - I sleep better that way!
Now, I grab a 17 oz bottle of water on my way out the door each day and add Walmart brand Orange sunrise SF drink mix to it. I'm done with that bottle before I get to work (26 miles in Los Angeles traffic - ugh!).
Once at work, I put down my purse and grab a Walmart brand SF grape drink mix and go to the break room. I start a pot of decaf coffee and then mix the grape mix - 64 ounces - and put that in the 'fridge. I pour a cup of decaf and add Splenda and SF International Delight french vanilla creamer, and go start my day. When that cup of coffee is gone, I go and make another... (about 37 oz. so far, if you're keeping track).
After my second cup of coffee, I make breakfast and eat it while I work, then after breakfast, I take a 15 minute walk.
About 90 minutes later, I go get the pitcher of grape drink and start drinking... when about half of it is gone, I take it back to the 'fridge and get out my lunchbox... lunchtime!
Toward the end of the day, I finish the pitcher of grape drink (sometimes I change up the flavors, but I like grape the best - it just freaks me out that it changes the color of my um... poo... to bright green!! - sorry TMI).
When I leave work, I usually have either a Snapple diet tea on the way home, or if I'm on my way to a candle party, I drink a Slimfast Low-Carb on the way.
By now, I've had at least 100 oz. of liquid, so I don't worry too much about going so many hours ****il morning) without a drink, unless I start to feel light-headed - then I know I need either a protein snack or something to drink.
That said, I don't do so well on the weekends - no structure in my days! I try, but I probably get barely 64 oz. in when I'm not working.
Sorry this is so long, but I guess my point is that it's all about habit - so if you're having trouble with getting in your liquids, try to make good habits and after several weeks of doing the same thing over and over, it will become second nature!
I'm not very creative when it comes to my fluid intake. I have a medium decaf coffee every morning (14 oz.). Late morning, I have at least a 20 oz. bottle of water with Crystal Light. In the afternoon and evening, I just continue with the water/Crystal Light. Pre op, I drank water like crazy. Now, post op, it sometimes makes me nauseous if I drink it without the Crystal Light in it. Not sure why but my nutritionist said she's heard that before.
Great question, I drink lots of warm herbal tea at work, or decaf coffee. i also like to buy bottled water that has the sport spout so i can drink out of that. I like my water room temperature. Another trick is to put lemon, lime, or orange slices in it, it is yummy, although generally i am too lazy to do that. In the beginning I bought a huge 64 oz thermal cup like from a local gas station and sipped on that all day until it was gone.
I got the arrowhead water bottles that hold just over a pint of water with the sipper top (drinking from a regular bottle makes me gulp my water) and i just sip sip sip. the top reminds me i cannot take alot of water in at once but i do get in all i need by the end of the day just sipping and it keeps me from running to the bathroom every few minutes because it takes all day. I usually drink two containers (one water one Protien water) and if i still have time i add a third.

I wish I did get all my water in, but on some days I do not.. I try to put lemons/ orange juice./ watermelon, pinapple in my water to and fluid intake. I blend up the watermelon and pinapple into slushes, and add water,
