My first stall I was 2 weeks out... and it lasted 6 weeks... So my first 2 months were pretty much living through a stall. I've had a few more since then but the only thing i can do to break it.... Up my protein (even if i'm already meeting requirements), Up my water, and up my exercise... eventually it will break it. Plus... dont look at the scale... it gets more and more discouraging that way. To prevent stalling... I dont think its possible... i think your body has to constantly adjust and the result of that is a stall. Its just something we have to deal with as weight loss surgery patients. i feel like i'm in a stall 3/4ths of a month :/ maybe i'm doing something wrong. i seem to fluctuate alot. i will hit a new low weight and then spend the next 2 weeks or so fluctuating within about 5lbs of that before i will again hit a new low. since i fluctuate so much and stall, i don't really think i can offer any advice.

Hi Lea, I'm not sure if there is anything you can do about a stall... except keep your chin up and know it will end! My first one lasted 3 weeks and I was very sad, thinking that was it but I continued to eat within my calories and kept up with the protein, I tried to move more and up my fluid intake (the best I could ~ I hate to drink) and finally when my body decided to lose more, it did. I have heard bad things about stalls. I have yet to experience one though. I am a lucky one. Still lose about a pound a day.

Exercise and water seem to help a lot.

I had a few stalls along the way, what I found was when I didn't eat I didn't lose. My body went into shut down mode and I didn't lose anything. So I had to make sure I ate and got my fluids in- water really does help. So what worked for me was upping my protein intake, fluids and exercise --see if that works if not try other ideas on here. Good luck everyone....

Well given Im so early out I haven't had a "real" stall.. I had the typical body what the heck have you done to me stall 2 weeks out... I just stayed true to the diet prescribed by my doc, water and walking and things moved again after a bit... That's all I got right now.... OH along with a hug and a shoulder too!

I haven't had a stall yet (I hope I don't jinx myself by saying that!).
