Daily Post--1/3/08
I am always cold so I stay in the house and exercise as much as possible. During the summer I did water aerobics and took walks outside but now that it's winter I do the treadmill, totoal gym and the exercise ball all inside. I'm not sure if I should be doing more but I have to do with what I have for exercise equipment.

I am bad about excerising.. Its something I need to do better in. If and when I do, its usually a walk or while watching t.v I will lay on the floor and do leg crunchs, and a few leg extentions.. Please thats where I need the help and a buddy!
I go to the gym. But, New Years Day the gym was closed.
So, it was raining, snowing, windy and FREEZING, soo.....
I WENT TO THE BEACH. (I'm serious, I really did.)
I dragged my son, husband and dog. And I got my exercise.
I also have DVD's at home and Comcast On Demand has free exercise videos, so I'll do that if nothing else. I am trying to exercise at least 30 minutes 5 days a week, but preferably every day.
Next year, when I have quite a bit of this blubber off my butt and there's not so much stress on my knees and ankles, I want to try snow shoeing.
It was 70 degrees today outside and wonderful. I've got no excuses for not exercising outside with that weather. My brother moved to IOWA, and had to join the YMCA because it was to darn cold to exercise outside.
My only way to stay focused is to have a FIRM goal which requires you to be motivated. At least that's the case for me. I know my first official Sprint triathlon will be here in May regardless of whether I train. Each day is my chance to have it be a great day, and not just an OK day.

I like to run but the wind blows so bad here that I run in my basement on the treadmill and I lift weights.
We have gotten a lot of snow but it blows away. No trees to block, it's like the frozen tundra. Today, all day, the wind blew about 40 mph. What trees we do have here have a slight bend to them at the tops.

I think our "low" today was about 50... but GREAT question! I walk around the parking lot at work each day, and if it rains (two or three times a year), I walk the warehouse instead, up and down each aisle.
I also started a yoga class a couple of months ago, so every Wednesday night, that's where you'll find me.
"The Bean" was on my Christmas list, and yes, I got everything on my list. The funny thing about the Bean is that it doesn't really feel like you're working out - but the next day, YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WORKED OUT!! I've been doing it for about a week now, and I definitely feel it!
I spent Christmas in Oregon, and it actually snowed on Christmas day. I played outside with my nephews. The next day, my daughter and I were on the way home, and hit snow in the Siskiyous. We stopped to wait it out at a rest stop - and built a snowman! It was sooooo much fun!
Thanks for the great ideas, everyone!
O.K. Jean---what is "The Bean"?? Living in Roseburg, the banana belt of Oregon---we had no snow on Christmas Day, however there was a skif on the ground on the 26th. I went to my mothers/brothers house on Christmas Day and it was snowing there. I laughed at your note about rain where you live now---two or three times a year!! I will take Oregon rain because it is beautifull here, but it does get on my nerves at times. Julia
Hi Julia!
Check out www.bean.com. It's an inflatable device that you sit or lie on while you exercise, so you don't have to be on the ground. There's one move where you just kind of rock, and it works your abs, so I do it when I'm watching TV...
I was at my brother's house in Milwaukie on Christmas Day when it snowed. Later that evening, we went back to my parents' place in Fairview, and it was just wet - no snow. I think we drove through Roseburg on our way through Oregon - but it was a 20 hour drive, so I don't really remember a lot of it!! Did the whole thing in one trip on the way up, but took two days on the way home - couldn't do the 20-hour thing again!!!
It is beautiful there, but I couldn't do it - don't know how you all survive all that wetness!
