Daily Post--1/3/08
I have a gym membership, so that's where I head all winter. I do a variety of things--cardio, weight machines, a circuit class, & a body sculpting class--depending upon the day and how much time I have. I detest exercising, so the fact that I have had a gym membership for 3 yrs.--and have been pretty faithful--is absolutely incredible! I have been REALLY BAD for the past mo. and have not darkened the doorway of the gym all through Dec., so this week I started back. OOOWWW!!!
When the weather starts getting nice again, I walk outside some days instead of going to the gym. I also have 2 girlfriends who like to ride bikes in the evening, so we do that together (not power-riding, just easy riding) once or twice a week. But even in the summer--when IL gets humid--the gym is my main source of working out.
Well there again being newly post op I do have a exercise routine as of yet but in the past I have done exercises to various fitness videos. Another thing I found positive was to be able to walk up and down my step, not all of them but like 3 or 4 just up and down like you would on an stepper. For my calves I would place my toes and the first part of my feet on the step and raising myself up by my toes. I've even walked room from room repeatedly to get walking in especially now when my food doesn't want to stay down!!!

I just got a Total Gym and I have the Walk Away the Pounds Videos. Where I am we don't get snow, but it has been really cold! BRRRRRRRR!!! I live on a horse ranch so I like to go outside and walk. I miss that when it is this cold! However, I did go out and mess with my horses a little today.Just no long walk. Hope everyone is having a great week!

I get busy around the house too... or I run around and play with my DH and dogs outside or inside too
Unfortunately I had not exercised at all since I had surgery....until now. Just yesterday my husband and I started together. We are riding stationary bikes in our house since it is so cold (I can only do 10 minutes right now) and then we do crunches, leg lifts, pushups and whatever else we can come up with. When the weather starts getting better, we will start walking outside. I am praying that I can actually stick to it this time.
Well, I'm still working on the whole exercising piece. I was motivated to pull out my old exercise videos last night and then realized we don't have a vcr hooked up! Oh well!
I did just order a copy of Walk Away the Pounds dvd last night and I'm so excited (used to have a vcr WATP) so I can't wait to get it!
Exercising outside is out right now - we have well over a foot of snow outside my door! YIKES!
I joined curves a few months ago. I am having some real issues with the whole "exercise" thing. I want so badly to be one of those people who love to exercise but no matter what I just hate it. I have tried different things and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I make myself go to curves and I am always glad that I do, but it doesn't mean I like it.......lol.
Maybe part of it is the winter. Makes me want to snuggle under the blankets and not get out of bed most of the time, but that isn't being realistic or helping myself so I don't.
