Today's daily post is inspired by the white stuff on the ground outside today. We have 6+ inches of snow on the ground and I'm curious what YOU do to exercise in the winter. How do you get your exercise in when it is so cold or the snow/ice keeps you from being able to get outside and exercise? How do you adapt your favorite exercise routine to winter weather? Do you do different exercises all together or do you just adapt your normal routine? Any and all suggestions are welcome! Lea

I love Winter but I don't do snow and ice so yup it keeps me from doing much of anything outside. I do my work outs right in the warm comfort of my living room most days lol. But come Spring I will be out and about. Have a super day everyone! *huggles* Felicia =0)

Oh, this is so easy!!! How do you get your exercise in when it is so cold or the snow/ice keeps you from being able to get outside and exercise? A: I live in the desert, it's 70 degrees out today... no snow... no sleet... no ice... no rain... I still walk at night although it's cooler, I'm able to walk further, and use my Stationary Cycle almost every morning. Only thing I miss is the pool as it's cost prohibitive to heat up in winter... but I do enjoy the spa in the evenings... How do you adapt your favorite exercise routine to winter weather? A: I wear a light jacket when I go for my walk and sport shoes instead of sandals... Do you do different exercises all together or do you just adapt your normal routine? A: The only thing I miss is the swimming... I really enjoy swimming as I'm a shark in the pool... Everything else stays the same.

I LOVE winter...especially now with all of the snow. But, it's Chicago and supposedly going to be 50 by Sunday! . My husband and I partake in all winter sports--skiing, ice skating, sledding (it's hard to climb those hills with all that gear), cross country, snowmobiling, ice fishing...This morning, when it was in the single digits though, I headed to the YMCA as it's just too cold to run outside. The only change that the winter brings me is not being able to swim and that is my favorate exercise. I have a treadmill in my home and use that as exercise all during the year. I do like to walk outside and just bundle up if necessary. Nanci

Hi Lea, Well...we have had it rough here in CT thus far and while I make every attempt on Saturday and Sunday to take my dog for an outdoor 3-miler I have had to make exceptions...I have fallen twice now, twisting my ankle once on blac****I certainly don't want to break anything as that would be most conterproductive...So, when the weather is uncooperative on weekends and also every Monday-Friday at 5am I either recumbent bike or do a Leslie Sansone video...Either one works up a good sweat and gets me ready for the day! Take care!

I hate exercise, I love to pay outdoors. LOL so I dont exercise outside at all anyway. I do love to have snow ball fights! Street sleading is so much fun. You hook up a water ski tow line to a 4 wheeler and you kneel on a snow slead and you get pulled behind the 4 wheeler, if the ground has been plowed the night before there are nice walls and to run up and down. It fun but dangerous, still its FUN! Also outside snow fun is building a snow family. Its a ton of fun and take time and energy. We start with small balls and roll them from the back yard to the front yard to gain size, it compacts the snow really well and takes the whole family to lift them and roll them into place. I want to take up rock climbing this summer and I want to go camping and fishing not much exercise but I can add in a hike.

I stay indoors! The treadmill at home and the Y are much nicer places than being out in the cold. I have asthma and even walking a short distance in the cold really hurts my chest and I don't get as good of a workout as I would indoors. If the temp gets about 50, I will try to walk outdoors some. Yesterday, I ALMOST went rollerblading at a roller-rink.... unfortunately, it was closed for renovations Instead, I went (with dear Corinne) to a rec centre that has a walking track that circles the ice rink. Good workout! Thanks Corinne!
