11/12 MON What did you eat today?
Okay, another day...another chance to get it right! LOL I'm not hitting my 100 grams of protein consistently. I know I won't today as I ate breakfast and then remembered I have to have some fasting labs drawn, so thankfully there's enough hours in the day to fast 8 hours and still get them done (breakfast was over before 8!). SO, I'll be eating lunch at about 5 and dinner at 8 or 9 this evening just to get my cals and protein in for the day. Hope that the rest of you are in a better spot!
What are you eating? Did you get your vitamins in??
Lea
Lea, what do you use to figure out protein grams/carbs/calories of the food you eat? I think I should start keeping track, as my diet varies widely and I have no clue how much I really am eating. I have an electronic food tracker my DH bought me last year, but I found I don't have the patience to keep track that way. I think I need a book source.
B: protein shake I know this is 28 gr protein, 210 cals (made with carb countdown, 1 sc pro-score/whey stack combo)
was at a workshop and worked thru lunch, then went shopping
L: Stallone Pudding, cheerios (20 gr protein in the pudding, 100 cals)
D: homemade chicken soup with pasta, lemon and egg
S: more chicken soup
grazed on animal crackers between lunch and dinner. I think I got too hungry between B (7:30am) and my next food (3pm) ... not a good practice! I have some nice fruits and veggies here but don't feel like eating them.
Got all of my vitamins in, but not enough liquids, again.
My scale is dead. I'm not going to get another one until December.
Many people here on OH use fitday.com OR sparkpeople.com to log their food and figure it all out. I take a slightly different approach and have mine in an Excel spreadsheet. One page in the spreadsheet is food info and I add something when I eat it for the first time. I usually go to calorie-count.com to find the nutrition info that first time, but there are other sites for that too... Eventually, you remember the info for the stuff you eat the most often and you even remember silly facts like how many are in a serving. How many NORMAL people do you think know that there are 28 almonds in a full serving and that it is also about 5 grams of protein????? Not many I bet! And, how many of those folks stuffing handfuls of chips into their face realize that ONE serving is only like 15 chips??? NONE probably! Those bags you buy for like 69 cents that most folks think of as single servings are more like 2 1/2 or 3!
As for the animal cracker grazing--get rid of those suckers! Or, don't buy more when they run out. I have to do that with the Cheeze-Its and such sometimes. If they are here, I'll eat them! I may only eat one serving, but I eat them about once a day till they are gone!
Dead scale?? Shudder the thought! Mine died (well SOMEone got on it with wet feet and the water ran down inside and fried the thing) last month. I made it almost 3 weeks without one and then broke down and did buy one! But, with all those lose-weight New Year's resolution folks, they do usually go on sale in December! You should be able to get a good deal on one then!
Hugs,
Lea
It was after 6 by the time I got my labs done! SO, here's how my day has gone:
breakfast (very early for me): eggs, sausage, 1/2 piece Nature's Own double fiber bread toasted (probably about 18 protein)
lunch (about 6:30 pm): small Wendy's chili with cheddar cheese, most of a side salad (I dump the chili into the side salad like their southwest taco salad--about 22 protein total)
snack: Power Crunch bar (15 protein)
That made about 55 protein. I really need more calories and protein for my day, but I don't know that I'll eat again at this hour. Guess this will be a REALLY low day! I did get in over 64 ozs of liquids though!
