Hello Hello! Well, I am down to 207, minus 5 more pounds and I will take any loss!!! I come from a family with heart disease & hypertension on both sides, and diabetes on my father's side. I have lost the weight and regained it so many times. But the taste of being thin and healthy hung around that I knew I needed to find a more permanent way of keeping it off. As I drop the pounds, I am finding it fun to go shopping in my closet and find clothes that I thought I would never wear again!!! I am also finding it pleasurable to give away my clothes that have become too large Would I do it again?... In a heartbeat, only 20 years sooner Hugzzz~~~ Nani Highest: 330 something Pre-surgery: 287 Current: 207 Goal: 165

Great question Lea, I too have degenerative disc disease and have had surgery on a ruptured disc which caused nerve damage so at 30 years old I faced 4 back surgeries and am on enough narcotics for my pain to put most people to sleep for a week. The doctors said this was the only thing left that may help my back pain, they said no guarantee but it definitely could not make it worse. YES I WOULD DEFINITELY DO THIS AGAIN WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT!!!!!! Starting weight 260 started Halloween challenge 226? Halloween goal 199 or less Todays weight 195 Good luck everyone Renee Schwing

I am under goal! My goal was 183, and I weighed yesterday morning at 178.5. I guess all that dancing with the folks from the Texas Message Board paid off, lol. I will be setting a new goal for the New Year's Challenge. As for why I had the surgery, I really got to thinking about my weight, and all the weight related diseases my grandmother had. I did not want to wait til I was in my 50s and 60s to get diagnosed, only to be so set in my ways, that I could not do anything about it. The hardest thing while debating on a surgeon was shopping for Easter clothes. None of the cute stuff fit. I would definately do this again. I have more energy, look younger, feel better. And best of all, my weight is not going ot bring me down! denise

I am at 153. Down one pound and I will take it. Any time the scale moves in the right direction, I am a happy camper. LOL I decided to have the surgery after attempting to squat down at students' desks to give them help but then being in so much pain that I was the one needing help. I felt I was too young(49) for knee replacement surgery. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I was on high blood pressure meds, had high cholestrol level, and GURD. Thank God for WLS!! Since surgery I am doing so much better!!! I can do so much more now. Also I can squat at students' desks. I am glad I had the surgery. I would not change anything except to have it done much SOONER! Have a great week everyone!! Patti

Hey Lea, It's me, and I am only 6 pounds from my Halloween goal. Don't think I'll make it but also didn't think I would get thi close to it. I am now at 156 and my 17 yr old daughter just lost 10 pounds because she doesn't want me to weigh less than her. I told her she is being silly but you know teenage girls! Tina

highest weight 321 day of surgery 288 2 weeks ago 267.5 (forgot to post last week) current 264.5 halloween goal 255 (9.5 more lbs) I had WLS because I had reached a high of 321 at 5'3. I have two step sons that are very active and I couldn't keep up with them. I was also told I would not have any children of my own if I didn't lose weight. I want to have at least one of my own. Also I was in constant pain in my back and legs. I always seamed to be sick, and I JUST HATED MYSELF for being so weak. I researched this for a long time before I decided to actually do it. When I found out my husband's insurance covered it completely, I knew it was time. I wish I would have done it sooner. And I would do it again if I needed to. Rebecca

Lea, It's Lea Ann you are going to have to email me personal about these challenges. I only get on a couple of times a day during the week because I use my computer at school. Since Labor day I have gone from 213 to 205 loss of 8 lbs. Your question, I wanted to live to see my children grow up. Now it is I love being sexy. Lea Ann
