Okay, here we are already at the first roll call of this newest challenge round! How have you done? For this week's question of the week, please tell us what you most hope to accomplish during this challenge round. I'm talking about what you want to do BESIDES meeting your goal weight. Some folks have new exercise goals. Some folks are working on getting back on track with their diet. Many folks have goals other than their actual weight goal. What is yours? I very seriously need to up my exercise during this challenge. If I don't start getting more toning done, I don't think I'll ever get on that bandwagon! With winter so close and the outdoor exercise opportunities dwindling over the next few months, I really need to begin to incorporate more indoor exercise and some decent weight/resistance training exercise. That is my goal for this challenge other than getting to 222. Now that I've had this little weight loss burst, I feel like I set my goal too low and will now change it to a conservative 220 pounds. The lower I get, the longer it takes to take off 10 pounds it seems! So, my goal is now 220 pounds and I'm fluctuating this week between 226 and 227, so I'll call it 227... Hugs, Lea

Well Thurs I was down to 308, then over night I gain 2 pounds and it is still stuck there!! I am not eating enough food, so I don't understand how I could have gained. I am al walking more than 4 days a week. I am back up tp 311 : ' ( I am very upset!!! As for my new goal, I really want to not feel the need to weigh myself 4-6 times a day and eat occordingly. Ex. if I weigh more that 1 pound heavier by luch, I won't eat, 2 pounds by snack, 3 pounds by dinner, If I weigh more that 3 pounds heavier when I weigh before bed than the in the moring, then I am very upset and eat less the next day. My other goal is to get in the protein, and Vtms

Heather, You probably are literally not eating enough---enough as in going into starvation, not just not enough to get your protein in... If you get too low, your body will hold onto every little bit you give it (just in case!). Are you tracking your calories? Where do you fall? If you are eating less than 800-900 minimum per day, you may be that low... And put that scale away! I admit that I weigh daily, but it is a get up, go potty, put on bra/pantie**** the scale habit that I've gotten into. There are days when I don't weigh, but I do weigh most days. If I had the habit you are mentioning though, I'd toss that scale! I'd fling it out the back door into the yard! LOL Can you stick it somewhere out of sight for a few days at a time? a week at a time would be better... I honestly did not even OWN a scale till I was over 6 mos postop! I stopped by my PCP's office when I was in town (25 miles from home) and weighed myself there... That meant that I only weighed every week to 10 days and never got frustrated with those little bounces back up before dropping some more. It really, really made a difference! You are frustrating yourself!! Have your hubby take that thing and hide it in the garage somewhere! Maybe if you start charting and focusing on your calories, protein, and vitamins and put that scale away for a while you'll have a better few weeks? It is worth a try! BIG hugs! Lea

Hi Lea, I think I already responded once before but today I am 156-157 so lets say 157 and my goal is 140 by halloween. Weight loss appears to be suddenly slowing down now.. hard to say yet but I am bouncing up and down in the 150s a bunch. My exercise hasn't been as good so that is my goal to make sure I keep up with that at least 4 times a week. I usually run two miles and do some arm curls with 5 # weights and leg exercises, ab crunches. Thanks again for all your hard work u do with this challenge!!!

Hi Lea, I'm sitting a the hospital with my stepdad. He has liver cancer and isn't doing well. I don't have access to any scales. I did weigh in Thursday at my surgons 212 pounds. So if you want we can use that. As far as my other goals its to try and to exercise a bit more. I have got in my share up here becasue everything is a long way away. Even the parking deck feels like a mile away. Karen R

Karen, Sorry to hear about your Stepdad. Wish I could give you a big hug! But, I am here if you need to chat... Please watch to be sure you are eating. It is very easy, in that situation, to let yourself forget. You have to eat in order to live and to be strong for your family... Hugs, Lea

My weight remains at 188 lbs. Third week in a row and it's getting frustrating. Well, at least I'm not gaining. As for a goal, I am having surgery on my foot in a couple weeks and my goal is just not to gain any weight while I recover as I won't be able to go to the gym for a month!! Arrghh. Michele

Hello Halloweeny challengers!! I'm down to 210 this morning, and am now officially 5 pounds from my Halloween goal, and my total goal of 205 lbs!!! 3 weeks ago I thought my weight loss was slowing down, but then I started to lose like crazy. I don't remember what my weight was last week, or at last official check in! Strangely, life is starting to feel alot like it did 9 years ago when I weighed 205 and my battle with obesity had not yet begun. 9 years ago I married my DW. As many of you may be aware my DW and I both had WLS in March of this year together. We are both now down to our weights when we got married 9 years ago. As for goals for this challenge, losing the last 5 lbs is pretty low on my priority list. I know it's going to happen as long as I keep along the path I'm on. What I need to do is focus on vitamin/supplements, and re-establish a better exercise routine which would implement more resistance training. --Dave 350/210/205
