Is anyone else nauseous in the morning?
Hi all.
I have been doing really well since surgery on the 18th, but I do have one little problem....I wake up every morning feeling . Anybody else have this problem? My surgeon suggested I drink something high in protien right before bed and I have tried that but it doesnt seem to help much.
And before anyone suggests it, I am NOT pregnant.

I had the DS......so this advice might not apply to you. But i had the same thing happen to me right after surgery... the advice i was given was to eat something small upon rising (specifically a couple of saltines). Now again i don't know if a RNYer should do that or not..it may cause dumping ..i don't have that problem.
But long story short the crackers helped a bit. To be honest though until i was 4 weeks out i couldn't really drink or eat before noon..that seemed to be when my stomach woke up..lol.

Hi Lisa,
I am much further out than you, 2-03-06, but I have been having the same problems with nausea in the mornings It started about 4 weeks ago and has now calmed down a bit. Nothing I tried helped. Mine would always pass by about 1:00 in the afternoon. Also, water tends to make me very queasy! Hopefully this will all pass with time
I, too, am not pregnant.....yet!
take care,
Kristy
I was sick in the morning for quite a while. I found that if I ate anything in the morniong, no matter what, or who nutritious...it just didn't want to stay down. So I started my morning with a cup of hot ginger/peach herbal tea. The ginger settled my system down.
While I no longer get queasy...I find that I feel better if I just go out and do my workout and then have a bite to eat for breakfast afterwards...somehow my body clock had shifted drastically...
Another way to deal with that sick feeling is to pop in a s/f breath savers wintergreen mint...does the trick every time!
