What do you all do...
Erin, this Jen (with a new log-in name).
I found that taking food out of of the equation when dealing with emotions left me with my hands tied behind my back. And I'm learning that the only way to deal with the (fill in the blank with the emotion of your choice) is to address it head on. Unhappy? Let it out. Elated? Let it out. Depressed? Let it out. Etc. Every time I try to find a way to "deal" with something, I just make it worse.
So if you're stressed, look at why you're stressed and decide to either change it or accept it as it is. Make sense?
Hang in there.
Since dropping 166 lbs. I find that I find myself outside and either on the bicycle, on the trail or on the water...not that I get too stressed...I learned a long time ago that stress will mess you up...so after spending 9 years in a monestary, 8 years in the military and the last 27 years as a storyteller and a musician...I tend not to get too stressed if I cna help it...but a good hours worth of paddling will smooth out the kinks for me...in the kayak...that is...not much into the s/m...not that kind of paddling...the other kind...awww.shoot...ya' know what I mean!!
