A sad moment before surgery (long)
Hello, all. My surgery is on Monday, April 10th and I am really getting nervous and excited. I was supposed to work last night and tonight, however, a cousin to whom I was very close growing up passed away Tuesday night at the age of 42. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of years ago and it metastisized to her heart and brain. Fortunately she didn't suffer very long. So Erin and I are off to Southern Ohio this afternoon to attend her funeral. First we have to go shopping and pick up some appropriate outfits. Of course we had gotten rid of most of our clothes that we figured we wouldn't be wearing any more. This included all of the outfits we owned that would have been appropriate for funerals. That just goes to show that you should never get rid of clothes until you know absolutely sure you won't be needing them again. Anyway, I think the saddest part of my cousin's death is the fact she had such a hard life all the way around. Her mother had a stroke at the age of 36, so my cousins had to take care of her from a young age. The this cousin married an abusive pig whom she tried to leave a few times and could never manage to get away from. I understand that she and her family has been basically living in a hovel for years because the husband wouldn't keep a job. Such a sad situation. I just hope she has gone onto a better place.
Anyway, we will be leaving later this afternoon. The funeral is at 1:00 pm tomorrow and we will be driving the 4 and a half hours back home tomorrow after the services. Then it we will be spending the rest of the weekend getting ready for Monday morning.
