I went for my three month and found that I am way below the required amount of protein. So, my question is if anyone uses the unjury unflavored protein powder what type of things do you mix it with. I know it is not supposed to have a flavor, but to me its nasty. My weight loss has stopped, and I am tired and week all the time. These things I have found are do to not getting in enough protein. Any suggestions would be great. Melissa

Melissa, I am pre op and I have started experimenting with protein drinks because I don't really care for the taste, but I know I will need them after surgery. I ordered Unjury's sample pack so I could try it out. I put some chocolate in my magic bullet with frozen strawberrys and some sf instant coffee. It was pretty good. I also use the unflavored in my strawberry smoothies. I use frozen strawberries, nf plain yogurt, nf milk, equal and mix it up in my bullet. YUMMIE I hear smoothies mixed with sf carnation instant breakfast are good too. Good luck!

Hey Melissa The days I don't get enough protein in, I don't have the ***** I usually have when I get enough in. So I try hard everyday to protein it up! I don't care for Unjury Unflavored either. I tried the Any whey from GNC and it taste better. I mix it with 4 oz of Chocolate Carbcountdown milk for 22 grams of protein. I have heard that GNC will take things back if you dont like them. So go to GNC and start trying different proteins til you find one you like. Good luck Kay

Melissa-- I am so sorry to hear that you are having protein problems but you have got to find something to mix your protein with so that you arent weak. I think that you can mix in the powder with yogurt, soup and water and anything edible for that matter. I would check with your dietician but I will also call my dietician on monday and ask her and email you back. I think that for in the mean time, you need to pack protein into every meal that you have. Everytime you sit to eat a meal, make sure that protein is included somewhere in the meal. I know that it is hard, but you have to try if you want your weightloss back, because protein and water is the KEY to weightloss..... *muah* finda nessy

I'm not a big fan of the Unjury Unflavored, but I do like to mix it with snapple diet peach tea, crystal light lemonade and the other crystal light mixes. It alters the flavour slightly but not to the point where I can't at least choke it down. My problem with it is the smell, god it smells funky. In regards to that part, I've started drinking it out of a travel mug so I don't have to smell it while I drink. Also, try the chocolate isopure (only flavour i like) with milk. Tastes pretty good and gives you 50g of protein per shake.

kelley-- I am drinking the same isopure formula as you except mines is strawberries and cream formula but also 50g or protein and I wanted to know if you mix yours with 2 scoops of the protein powder and 12 fl oz of skim milk, isnt that going over on your sugar limit, because I mixed mine with 12 fl oz of water and it was nasty but when I mixed it with milk....it was fine but what I did was 1 scoop in the day with milk and one scoop at night with milk and it tasted like strawberry milk...it was better! so is this how you do yours or do you just drink it all at once, and if so how many ounces of milk do you use? finda nessy

What I do is mix 2 scoops of the protein powder in with 12oz of skim milk, then I drink half of it at one sitting, and the other half later in the day. I found that trying to drink it all at once made me feel a little nauseous. THis will sound weird, but I liken it to eating a banana. I can eat a little of it at a time, but then I gotta put it down cuz it makes me want to hurl (this was pre-op). Ugh..I can't stand protein powder in plain water. That really wanted to make me - Kelly

Hey Melissa, I think variety is the key. Try one of the Muscle Milks from GNC. The large RTD is 17 oz, 32 grams of protien, and you can close it up after you open it. My favorite is the Banana Creme. I am not a huge banana person but for some reason this flavor really hides the whey taste. I drink half in the morning while I get ready. I go to work and put it in the fridge. I eat my protien weight control oatmeal for breakfast around 9, lunch, drink the reast of my shake for afternoon snack, and I am ready for dinner come supper time. I don't tolerate chocolate very well, it makes me feel queezy! But this stuff is super yummy delicious... well as far as shakes go, lol. Cam was: 336 now: 267 down: 69lbs.

I don't use Unjury...no particular reason, mainly because my container of AnyWhey is still being used up...but I use a similar product, odorless, tastless, lesslless etc. I have had good success in mixing it in with sugar free puddings. I don't mix it in a the time of preperation, but just before serving..as the local chillen's have a tendency to snack on my food portions...yes...even after 2 1/2 years out...I'm still doing that...but why waste my protein powder on them when they don't need it?... I also add it - just before serving to things like creamier soups. If you add it to the clear type soups it is visible, not unpalatable...but just visible. I add it to my homemade version of 'logan bread' (on my profile), I cook with it when I make special s/f cookies or cakes. Last night I had a piece of ww pita bread, spread with some refried beans and jalapeno mont. jack cheese, plenty of protein already there, but sprinkle some protein powder on the mix, nuke for a few seconds to melt the cheese, dopesn't hurt the protein, and voila...added protein to the mix. It's all a matter of finding the foods that will accept it readily without your mouth going...ack...what's this...so cooking it with items that have a thicker, creamier consistency, or foods whose flavor will overshadow any possibility of it even being noticed. Good luck!
