Just wanted to put in an update about my back. Today after church (I have not been to church in years.) I went to my doctor's office, there are weekend hours. I sat there for two hours before I was even seen. However, the doctor I saw was very nice. I explained to him the problems I was having. He did is exam and sat quietly for a few seconds. Then, he said he wanted me to go the Montgomery County Hospital and have a Lumbar Spinal test exray done. He said he could tell that something about my Lumbar numbers 2,3,4, was wrong. He also perscribed me some muscle relaxers and pain medication. I do not like to take the meds he gave me, but the pain is so unreal. I also have to start physical therpay. He said the office should call me on Monday to set that up. I am sure that everything is going to be fine, but I just thought I would let you guys know what is going on. Melissa

Hi Melissa. Physical Therapy is often prescribed for back problems so dont let that freak you out. I am sorry you are in so much pain. But I am glad you went to the doctor. Better to know for sure what is going on, right? Take care. Lisa L.

Hi Melissa, I am so sorry to hear about your back, but I'm glad you finally went to get it checked out. Be a good little patient and follow all your doctor's orders...including the meds. You can't get better if you don't give your back a break with the muscle relaxers and yourself a break from the pain. I will be praying that everything goes well for you. Big Hug, Rosa

PT for the back really works. You'll be glad you did it, believe me!

HI Melissa; I'm very glad you went and got your back checked out. PT is going to be hard but well worth it, and look at it this way..it's just another way to get exercise in! If its a viable option, you may want to look into seeing a massage therapist as well to keep the muscles loose and pliant. But you should speak with the PT prior to doing that. - Kelly
