I was wondering if any of you feel it is necessary to get a medical ID bracelet and if so, what have you had engraved on it? I would like to get one, but I'm not sure what I should have engraved. Thanks for your help. Big Hugs, Rosa

It was recommended for the patients in our bariatric program. IN researching the cost for the medical ID, I found them to be quite costly, so I thought I'd just put a note in my wallet...then I thought "Well, what CAN'T you get on ebay?" So that is where I got mine, it was like $10. I added it with the other tags so now its like I have a charm braclet around my neck! Maureen

I got one, but I have also had a spleenectomy many years ago, so I was suppose to have one anyway. Just put Gastric Bypass (or your procedure name) on the necklace or bracelet. I have my surgeon as back up doctor to my PCP for emergencies. The cost is Flexible spending eligible, so the cost is not a factor for me. $60.00, pre-tax is not too bad. Matthew

that is a neat thought...i luv to tell others my story of my struggles and I would be honored to wear a charm that said I was a gastric bypass patient. I would also suggest going on amazon. com because they have some coll deals...let me know when you find one.... finda nessy
