1 1/2 months post op and 36lbs down
I am now 1 1/2 months post op and I find myself hungry more often and it's so annoying. Somedays I just don't want to eat but today I felt like eating every 45 minutes but I stuck to my plan of 4 small meals although I feel I could have left the 1/4 of a cheese quessidilla(spelling) out of it. I'm so afraid that I'll over eat and never even make it close to goal. I've been fat all of my life and I can't even imagine myself being "normal". My weight loss has slowed down but it's my own fault I can say I've had less than 400 cals except for today this past week sometimes 250 cals max. ?????????????
maybe my body was making up for lost times today....ugh...rambling
Naima,
You're on the right track, so don't get discouraged! I have days like that too, then they pass. Just don't be too frightened of overeating that you don't eat enough. In my non-medical, non-professional opinion, 400 calories sounds way too low. What does your nutritionist thing? Looking back at my food journal, 1-1/2 months out I was eat 650-850 calories a day. I did find that if I didn't eat enough, my weight loss slowed. And one I ate a bit more, the pouds came off easier. It's a strange balance, I know, but my doctor said that if you have too little, your body thinks it's starving itself and will fight to hold onto fat reserves.
So I gues what I'm saying is that you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. It sounds like you have room in your diet to eat a few more calories (if that's ok with your nutritionist). So when you get that urge to eat, consider foods that supplement your protein: cheese, deli meat, hard boiled eggs, etc.
Stya in touch and let us know how you do.
