Happy Beyond Measure!
The deed is done, we are legally married thanks to the great state of Ontario - and life is unbelieveably sweet!
Here's a few photos of our union and honeymoon trip.
Words can't express what it means to have our union legally recognized and validated. It feels humbling, and astounding, and like a deep responsibility, and subversive, and honoring, and like every moment is christmas, and flat out AMAZING. I wish this feeling for everyone who is in love with a partner that they know is their wife or husband. Someday our union will be recognized by the US, I know it - in my lifetime. Until then, she's still my wife, my love, and my partner.
With love to all my friends and fattie family,
~Lara

Fantastic, Lara!!!! My most heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to you and your new wife!!!!
Isn't Canada the BEST?! My Pattie and I will soon be following in your footsteps, except we're not eloping, we're moving there!!!!
You're both wonderful and have my deepest respect for saying "Phooey" to Bush and his clansmen, and getting married in Canada!!!
Bazillions of years of happieness to both of you,
Jessica
Thanks Jessica!!
It is amazing how cool people were the whole trip. I'm sure they have their problems like any other society. . .but man alive, a girl could get used to feeling like a true equal. We've already been having "the talk" about moving. . .perhaps when she's done with her degree.
The border crossing back was kinda weird - there was a photo of Dubya smirking at us. . .felt like a Jeer saying "well. . .its not legal here" - but we didn't care - it didn't ruin our day or change how we feel in our hearts.
Thanks so much for the love and best wishes.
~Lara
You both look so happy - congratulations!
In sunny Australia, our esteemed Prime Minister has instructed overseas embassies to deny gay Australians certificates proving their single status. This means that I would not be able to get married in Canada! I think our PM has managed to upstage even GW on the homophobia scale!
Hope you enjoyed the honeymoon - no details required!

OMG! That just sucks!
We didn't have to show documentation of single status provided we had no previous marriages. I think you could still do it. And believe me when I say, those Canadians were most neighborly about helping us through the process. Not just for kindess reasons, but darned if we didn't spend a few bucks while we were there - and that's what seems to talk.
The word Honeymoon is the sweetest thing to pass my lips since my lap RNY almost 2 years ago. *snicker snicker. . . .* details will be withheld to protect the guilty. *tee hee*
Hugs,
~Lara
Thank you very much Jen!!!!
It was a feeling that words can't well describe. Every now and again we look at each other and just smile and say: "You're my wife." Its a marvelous feeling. I would recommend it to all! I can't wait for the day when my union is recognized in my state and country.
Thanks for the love!
~Lara
