Hi gang, Got my staples removed today!! Nine days post op, 18.5 pounds down! This is so good. Still no vomitting or dumping ...and so far I have successfully eaten 50 grams of protein daily WITHOUT PROTEIN SHAKES. I was determined to use real food as much as possible .. and the doctor was pleased that I've been successful in my goal. ME TOO Big advantage of being home ...got to see Melissa Ethridge on Oprah. Performed her newest song .. inspired by the breast cancer runs. She has "femmed" up but is S O O O strong and vibrant. Was great to see her back in the spotlight. Jody

Neshia, I'm eating scrambled eggs plain or with melted cheese added. I eat hardboiled egg whites. I bought those little packages of Swanson chicken with gravy ..small bites, lots of chewing...add more gravy. I've had the hamburger patty with cheese from a McDonalds childrens hamburger plain ...no condiment. I had a glass of milk. String cheese. Hormel chili with beans. Taco bell refried beans with cheese. KFC regular chicken leg with the breading pulled off... Popeyes chicken leg and beans with no rice (my favorite before surgery ... to spicy after even with the breading pulled of ...stayed down but just didn't like the taste) I had canned chicken breast, shredded into strings, mixed with mayonnaise, salt and pepper. We went out to eat and I ordered steamed spice shrimp. DELICIOUS and slides down easy. Took me as much time to peel and chew 4 shrimps as it did for my gf to each her prime rib .... oh, and I had a bite of her prime rib soaked in the au jus ....actually I chewed it, got the flavor and "disposed" of the grizzley residue...but oh, did it taste good. I freeze green grapes and eat them one at a time, again disposing of the skin...this give me cold, WET, sweet to clean my mouth between the protein bites. I bought a Salter scale that has a code book. You weigh your food one ingredient at a time...then put in the proper code and it will tell you how much protein/carb/sodium/fat in that food. This way I know exactly what I'm eating. So far no rice or baked potato, but I've had saltine crackers, low fat pringles, bananas (to replace the lost potassium from the initial diarreha), Kraft macaroni and cheese with extra american cheese added in, one spoon of peanut butter day. So far ... so good! Jody
