This is it!
Tomorrow's my big day! I can hardly believe it's here...especially since just 1-1/2 months ago it felt like it was never going to happen.
My surgery's at 9:15 and I have to be at the hospital at 7. The hospital staff has been very nice so far--even when I told them that treating Rose like my spouse was essential to my recovery!
Last night I went shopping for yogurt and soup...it felt like I was at a buffet after having nothing but broth, juice and protein shakes for 2 weeks. Yesterday and today were strictly clear liquids--no protein shakes at all. And it hasn't really been that bad. I got over the crabbiness of it all a few days ago.
I just need to finish up a few things at work, pack an overnight bag, try to sleep and that's it!
Thanks everyone who signed my support page. Beth, you're such a sweetie to rally the troops on my behalf. It was overwhelming to look at the page and see your names there. I can't believe how much that meant to me!
Wish me luck!
Jen
Good luck Jen!! It is such a great feeling to finally be on the losing side and I can't wait for you to feel it too!! Walk, breath (use your spirometer) and use your morphine pump. When you get home continue to walk and breath, and remember that the pureed stage does end even though it feels like it's a lifetime (well depending on what your surgeon requires).
Be sure and have Rose post soon so we can all know how you are doing!!
Hugs -Stacey
Jen,
I am feeling really excited for you right now! Your future is going to be awesome, I can just feel it! Take good care of yourself, and do what they tell you to do even if it feels like you can't!
You have bunches of us caring, watching and waiting to hear something so please let us know how you are doing!
I am sending bunches of good thoughts and hugs your way all sprinkled with a little fairy dust!
Take good care, and we will see you on the loosing side!
Best of Luck and Health,
Amy
