Newbie to GLBT board - hello, family!

Hello, all - I didn't know until tonight that there is a gay board here. I am scheduled for lapbanding on 5/23 . I am a relative lightweight going into surgery w/ a BMI of 32.4. I have a horrible family history of diabetes and its complications, though, and I am trying to carve out (get it - carve out = surgery ) a different future for myself. Sorry about the horrible pun. It snuck up on me. Anyway - glad to have found this board. I have learned alot and gotten great support from the general lapband board. Anyone else here have the lapband? Looks like mostly RNY's.
