My stay wasn't bad. I had open RNY, but I was only in the hospital for 2 nights. I was the last surgery of the day on that Monday and I came home on Wednesday. The people were friendly and Dr. Umbach was my surgeon. He was nice. I was supposed to lose 40# before surgery. I lost about 26. I think as long as you show a good effort with it, they won't cancel you. I had my appt. with Dr. Stiles right around December 19 (I had orientation Dec 6). I got a call from Alma 2 weeks later with my date for Feb. So I had surgery a little over 2.5 months from my orientation. That time went by fairly quickly. I remember those feelings of excitement and panic before surgery. I was so ready for it to be over with. Afterwards, I felt a little lost because I didn't have anything to pursue anymore. Your surgery will just be right around the corner. Let me ask you, when did you get your approval letter and when was your orientation? The reason I ask is my partner has been approved. He got his letter around the 1st of August. Of course they say it takes 12-16 weeks to schedule orientation, but I was just wondering if they still are on that lengthy schedule or if people are getting it sooner. I know mine took 12 weeks, but he's a little more impatient than me.
