Hello everyone. It doesn't look like folks post to this board very often, but I thought I'd say hi anyway and start checking out this board as well. I know my home state board (Indiana) doesn't have a lot of activity either. Just as an ice-breaker... I'm wondering if anyone else shares this situation with me. My partner is one of those people who can eat anything and everything and never gain a pound. In fact, we had a period of time last year when his weight dropped so much that we had to have him start drinking high-calorie nutrition shakes to slow down the weight loss. He's back to a more healthy weight now, but it does get frustrating at times, especially at dinner time. He always eats at least 1/3 more than I do, but doesn't gain weight. I'm glad he's healthy and doesn't share the weight problem that I have, but it's still frustrating.

Bob -- I once had a partner like that. It is awesome to be a larger person and still have this attractive lil girlie girl on my arm. It assured me that there is something about me that is attractive. I have always been confident. But, she did give me a big-o-boost. I am one of those butch dykes (that is a postive word for me) when I walk down the street you can tell I am gay from 100 yards. Hi Bob!!! Welcome to this board!!! Yes, I had a partner who could eat huge amounts of fattening food and NEVER gained an ounce...You are right, it is tremendously frustrating!!! Sometimes I just wanted to strangle her---in the most loving way, of course... Take care and best wishes on your weight-loss journey!!! Cheryl

Hmmm...my partner is not quite at that extreme, but she is petite and can out eat me usually. In the six years we've been together, I've put on close to 100 pounds and she's put on 15. Actually, obesity is common in my family. 7 out of 7 family members have some weight issues and 4 out of 7 are morbidly obese. So...looking back it is easy to see that myself and my siblings have self-selected thin partners. It helps ensure that offspring will be less likely to have weight problems. Of course, my offspring with my partner isn't really an issue. Peggy Pre-Op

- there are different body types, this should help you understand better and why each ones gains or loses weight or none at all. http://bodybuildingpro.com/bodytypeinformation.html

Welcome to the board...sorry it is late in coming but I have not been here in a few weeks following my WLS. WOOF, you are a handsome man. My partner and I both have weight problems and since moving in with each other over 8 years ago we have managed to gain well over 100 pounds each. We also had our WLS about 6 weeks apart. He is 3 months out next week and has lost a total of 92 pounds. I am 5 weeks out and have lost 50 pounds. I know when he was eating or not after WLS and I was still eating everything in sight it was frustrating to him. I would eat away from home so that he did not have to deal with the smells and sights of my last meal syndrome. Thankfully we are on the same track now and can assist and support each other. Nice to have you here and if you and your partner ever get to the Fort Lauderdale, FL or want to come for a visit let us know. Tim
