So I've been struggling for a while to get back on track with healthy eating and activity.

Any tips or advice?

I know the canned answer of "get up, get out, motivate yourself, etc."

Nothing seems to be working....  Would love to hear your stories on what you did to get back on track and change your habits.

The eating part is the hardest. I guess I try to avoid being put into situations where "bad" food tempts me. I keep the pantry healthy. Happy hours are hard. Eating out is especially hard. I just make an effort to eat the healthier alternatives. Sometimes they are not good either. It takes willpower to limit intake especially when appetizers and drinks are involved. I often make sure they are not right in front of me.

In terms of activity, I find that you really need to enjoy it to make it stick and repeatable. Find something that you like and start with it.

Hard problem to solve, Jamie. Do your best.

I'm going through the same thing myself. I just woke up on Monday morning and said I better get back on track. I started back to the gym with an hour of cardio 4x a week. Doing meal prep, back on protein shakes, no fast food, and cutting my drinking down. Its hard but we have to do it. And make sure you drink you water.

I'm living this surgery and not letting the surgery live me...

I am experiencing the same thing with the sleeve, even continuing with low carbs and exercise. Turns out that with the Band, Sleeve, and many GPBs, that once you hit maintenance, many people cannot stop the gain, due to metabolism and changes in the actual biochemistry of weight gain. It ends up just being another diet... The only answer is to remain at a very low calorie level and high exercise. This is not possible to maintain over time. My doctor recommended that I continue on from the sleeve to complete the 2nd stage of the Duodenal Switch, before the success of the sleeve is lost to weight regain. DS revisions are becoming an increasing choice for many who will not be able to maintain loss without the high malabsorption factor of the DS.
