Finally Approved!
I just joined this forum. I'm also over on Vertical sleeve Talk, but there doesn't seem to be much activity on the GLBT forum over there.
After some annoying setbacks, I've finally been approved to have Gastric Sleeve surgery on March 29th.
I'm very excited. Although i expect to be a little nervous as the surgery date approaches.I've found a great surgery. And I watched my dad go through a gastric bypass with the same surgeon in January. So, I've had a sneak peek at what's in store for me, which has actually quelled some of the anxiety.
Originally, I was unsure about how and who i wanted to tell. But just like any coming out, it gets easier each time you decide to share with someone.
I'm looking forward to using the forums to help navigate as my WLS journey begins. It seems like a great place to get first-hand information & compassionate support from like-minded folks.
And I'm always thrilled to connect with other members of the GLBT community who are on this journey as well.
Congrats on your success! I hope my experience goes just as smoothly from here on out!!
Kennedy, I did my seminar tonight. Have to see surgeon once a month for 4 months and then I am good to go:) I wonder if it takes long to get approved once you jump thru the hoops and do the required stuff. Gawd, I would so switch teams for my surgeon LOL. Looks like he is queer friendly as two VERY obviously "family" members came in today to see him. Andddd he swore he would not make any boob comments when I was in surgery LOL.
