2-3 haitus and here I am.
VSG on 10/08/12
Hello GLBT OH friends. I used to be on here pretty regularly. Back then, I was hoping for surgery. Went through insurance hell. Attempted self pay up to and including a deposit sent to a surgeon's office in Mexico. Then foreclosure hit me with my condo in Huntsville, not due to lack of money but because my neighborhood got so bad, I packed up myself and my kids and got out. The bank couldn't offer any assistance or alternate plan in my situation so I handed it over. Anything to keep my kids safe but, it certainly ended self pay avenue abruptly.
It's funny how life can slam us down only to lead us to better places....I now live in Nashville in a big beautiful house that I would never have dreamed of owning, in a pleasant neighborhood. I just got custody of my oldest daughter at her request and I have an awesome job that pays well with a health plan that covers VSG at 90% with minimal qualifications.
I never trust an insurance company so, until approval is in hand, I'm not countin' the chickens but, it appears I meet the criteria so far. I am currently waiting on the results of a predetermination.
Just to reintroduce myself a little, I'm southern through and through. If you ever spoke with me in person you would probably get a kick out of the accent. Most do. On the GLBT scale, I'm a little G and a little T. So most of the time I feel like a misfit but, that's life. Maybe when the kids are grown, the T can take over but that's all speculation.
I look forward to getting to know everyone all over again or for the first time.

Good to see you again! Sorry to hear about your rough times but good to see that things are turning around. -- Tom

Welcome back Lane. Have you decided on a surgeon yet - if not I would strongly suggest Dr. Houston (I may be a little partial to him but LOL). I sent you a pm with my number if you ever want to talk to go have something to eat hit me up as you can see I completely understand where you are. If anyone looks at my pics they can see I went from being a 480 pound gay man to a 180 pound transgendered woman and could not be happier with my life.
