what's the longest time you've had to do a pre-op liquid diet?

 I'm just about to start my weight loss journey with Dr. Alvarez in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico.  It is very convenient for me living in Austin, Tx, because all my family lives in Eagle Pass, Tx, which is like a 10 minute car ride from Piedras Negras.  I grew up there as well, so I'm pretty knowledgeable about the area.  I have been asked to undergo a 30-day liquid diet due to my high BMI.  I'm curious...what is the average time y'all had your pre-op liquid diet?

Have a hard time remembering but I am thinking only 2-3 days prior to my RNY!  30 days seems like a long time to me.

 It really does depend on your BMI most of the time. That is a longer one that I have seen but it's supposed to help the surgery go better. 

I thank God my surgeon only requires clear liquids 24 hours prior to surgery bc I can't imagine how hard it must be to go two weeks or even more without any food when you still have a regular stomach that still wants it all.

I was on a six week Optifast liquid pre-op diet. I lost 28 pounds during those six weeks.

I was on a liquid diet for about 2 weeks pre surgery.  It wasn't too bad, because it really helped me meet my surgeon's goals for pre-surgery weight loss.  I had been binging a little pre-surgery and the liquid diet helped to balance me out.
