9 Months Post Op RNY- Goodbye Gallbladder! Pic inside!

So I am 9 months post op as of March 22nd! I have lost 145lbs all together and am so grateful for that! I hope I can still lose 20-40 more lbs! We will see. I had my gallbladder removed Friday night. Everything went smoothly and you guys were right...it hasnt been bad at all. It is much easier rocovering from surgery at 166lbs rather than 287lbs!! I am happy to finally have my gallbladder out and I can continue on this journey without worrying about it anymore! Thank you to everyone who helped me this past month with all this gallbladder talk!

But, I'm curious about the gall bladder surgery. My doc did a test prior to my RNY to see if the gall bladder needed to come out. In my case, the tests indicated the gall bladder was fine.

Did you have a pre-op gall bladder test? Did you develop problems after surgery and / or was this considered a complication from the surgery?

 Yes this is a complication from RNY. They say only 30% of ppl have problems with their gallbladder after but I think that's bs. I had mine checked and it was perfectly fine 9 months ago. 9 months later....FULL of stones. My partner had RNY 6 1/2 years ago.....and she had to have hers removed after 6 months. Literally almost everyone I know personally who has had the surgery has had to have their gallbladder removed. Sucks but it is totally worth it!!!

Glad you got the gall bladder out.  I had mine removed about year after my RNY and the recovery was waaaayyyy easier!

 It's amazing how much easier this surgery is than RNY! I was dreading this surgery because the only other surgery I ever had was RNY so I thought it would be like that again. Hell no! Thank God! This recovery has been soon much easier!
