Living in Arkansas.....Whew!
Hello there!
It has been so long since i visited OH that I totally forgot this forum existed! So glad that I saw the post on the AR forum inviting people to come here!
Well, I am an Arkansas transplant. I am from Los Angeles, California - and let me tell you, it is NOT easy being gay and living in Arkansas... it's not impossible mind you, just not easy...
At any rate, I am happy to be here. I am so sad when I see how VERY little traffic the Arkansas page gets! No one ever posts - it's almost as if no one here has ever had surgery! Sheesh!
I have been here for three years now, and I only JUST NOW found a support group, which meets once a month at the hospital. WHen I would call and ask in the past - even at the same hospital, they said they had no clue. So, I went for the very first time this past week, and it was pleasant....
I am trying very hard to still "fit-in" here. I hope I can. In the meantime, for those of you who don't know we, I do have a couple of pics posted. My before weight was 448, and my current weight (as pictured - yes that's me LOL) is 180. I am 8 full years out as of last January 4th! Whew!
I hope to get to chat with some folks on here as well. There is one thing that I have learned through this whole journey - YOU WILL ALWAYS, *ALWAYS* NEED SUPPORT. I know that I sure do!
I hope everyone has a great rest-of-the-weekend,
Mike

I live in a city that seems to be a center for WLS and I only know one gay person who has had WLS , lapband and I sort of talked him into doing it. Did not do it myself. Now 4 years later I am having a procedure next Tuesday, incisionless WLS , endoscopic, and am looking forward to being able to report the results , good or bad, of this very latest of weight loss "surgeries". Not looking forward to a month of liquids and mushies but that is part of the program.
