A little over 1/2 way there...

Hi all.  I haven't been posting much, but I am going to try to be better.  I agree that we need to get some more activity on here.

So today I hopped on the scale and I realized that I am just over 1/2 way to my goal from my highest weight last September.  I am two months and two days out from surgery and feel really good.  My pouch has been most accommodating and has allowed me to try different foods with no comlpaints... they are still WLS healthy foods, but I am fortunate that I haven't really had anything disagree with me.  I have to say, these 2 months have went smoother than I could have ever hoped for.

I am officially down two shirt sizes and a few pants sizes.  I spent New Years weekend completely emptying my closet and used some xmas gift cards to buy a few clothing necessities for work.  Everyone comments on my weight loss, but frankly, I still don't see it.  I notice clothes fitting different and it is pretty awesome to walk around the Macy's next to my office and know that I could fit into the clothes they sell there, but I guess I still see the same me.  Hopefully that will change.

My energy level is still not very high.  It is a struggle to do any type of exercise.  I really need some motivation in that regard.  I think it is just a mental thing, but who knows.

Okay, I guess that is it for now.  It felt good just typing that.  :)

Hope everyone is having a fantastic 2012 thus far!

Bill

Hey, congrats on your success!  Be sure to keep up the great work!

It IS awesome to know you can wear clothes sold in any store now (well, maybe not the thin teen stores like A&F, but you get what I mean!)  I love that I don't have to reach for the biggest size shirt on the rack anymore!

Way to go on your success!

I'm so looking forward to buying clothes in "regular" sizes. I live on an island where the shopping isn't great despite the number of larger women here.

1/2 way in that amount of time is great! Cleaning out a closet of too big clothes is very uplifting indeed. -- Tom

Congratulations Bill!  What amazing success.  Even when I couldn't see the changes, when I started changing clothing sizes it helped.  For me, it seemed like I woke up one day and finally saw the changes, and I was like "Oh wow."  Keep it up and it'll happen.

I too struggled with exercise at first, primarily because I was self conscious about going to the gym.  At about five months, I finally go over it and started going.  It was sporadic at first, but now me and Mrs. Y (my pet name for the neighborhhood YWCA) are on great terms.  I'm training for a 5K and am really starting to enjoy hitting the gym.  My advice is be patient and kind with yourself, but persistent.

Keep up the great work!

Sincerely,

Danny
