Finally got our license!
Holy crap! We had to go to a person's house who issues the licenses for marriage and civil unions! The woman who did it for us said the state is so short staffed, it would have taken three months to get it. I know the state is suffering hugely financially because I worked for a state contractor and lost my job in June because of no money. So this worked out much better as strange as it seemed.
We had a private commitment ceremony on January 1, 2008 on the grounds of the Hilton near a beautiful Buddah statue, so on Sunday , January 8 right before sunset, we will go there again to do it officially. We wanted to get the legal part done just on case something happens. Our family and friends will join us in June for a big ceremony.
I'm so lucky I live Hawaii!

Thanks everyone for the wonderful wishes! It was a very lovely ceremony. A few people stopped to watch which I found entertaining. There were five of us there whi*****luded my step-daughter, the officiant and her boyfriend. The weather was gorgeous, not too windy which happens a lot especially so close to the water. It was a wonderful, blissful day! And we topped it off with dinner at Sansei's, a fab Japanese restaurant. Good ting I'm pre-op!
Mahalo!
