Researching Still...Lovin' this Site!

Hey everyone! Well, I'm still in the research/getting my head right stage but i'm loving this site. I feel like i've gotten alot out of the stories so far!
To make things even better, I have now found the GLBT forum! YAY! I'm thinking and researching the sleeve more...hoping to have the surgery next year when my new insurance kicks in...
have to admit that i'm SUPER scared and very nervous about what the "new life" will have in store for me...mostly worried that i will fail, that i will find it hard leaving the "chub/chaser" community, and then, of course, scared of the possible complications.
It's sort of one of those deals where I'm not super unhappy with how I look but I KNOW this is something I need to do for my health and future.
Thanks for your support as I start this trip!

Welcome to the site! It seems a little slow around here right now, but it picks up. We're all a great bunch of caring folks so you found a good place.
I'm three months in and had a follow up appointment yesterday. No insuline for three months, it's probably time to come off my blood pressure medication and I'm down to one med for my lipids. I'm doing so great! and I'm down 90 pounds too, which is great. It's an amazing trip!
Research carefully, make the best decision for yourself and stay committed.
Hugs to you,
Danny

Welcome! This is an amazing site, and you will find tons of useful information plus amazing support. It's also good to see a felllow Texan!
I had VSG on 7-27-11 and have lost 62lbs. Preop, I wore a size 46w pant and I just bought a pair of 38w jeans.
Whatever decision you make, don't let fear get in your way. You are strong and beautiful. You can handle any challenge or complication that comes your way. It won't always be easy, but you will persevere, and come out even stronger!
Hang in there. This is an amazing journey that we're on.

Welcome to our gay little corner of OH!
I totally feel you on the fear, I was so afraid that I was going to become this scrawny little thing and lose myself.
I was so wrong.
This surgery gave me my life back, and allowed me to achieve dreams I didn't even know I had.
Good luck on your journey!!!
