6 month post op update
So it's been quite some time since I've logged in or posted. Many reasons why, lol. I am carrying 13 units during summer semester and effectively getting my ass whooped as a result! My new business has been taking off and I'm now looking for commercial kitchen space to appease the State Gov't Gods. I have been selling at smaller venues and doing fairly well. Between full time college, full time business, the girls home for the summer full time, a very HOT house (it gets up to and stays in the 90s in here no matter how much we crank the AC) and my working CSA at a local farm, I haven't been on as much as I used to.
I have not been weighing myself as often over the past month or so. I find it to be kind of counterproductive for me some days, so I just don't do it, especially during "that" time of the month. I had my 6 month post-op visit 2 weeks ago and everyone was quite pleased with my progress, even though THAT time had arrived that same morning and I was bloated like crazy. My labs were fairly normal, with the liver enzymes still mildly elevated (normal in a state of ketosis), my ferritin/iron were still somewhat low and my B-12 was also low. Between the surgeon on the 13th and my GP on the 20th, they have doubled my iron/Vitamin C and want me to take an additional B-Complex. My calcium was perfect, the D is still somewhat low....but these were issues I had been dealing with intermittantly after having the girls, so I expected it. I am still having trouble getting in the calcium citrate, but my GP said he wasn't concerned b/c my low fat dairy intake is so high, he believes that is sufficiant enough. I get in two 6 ounce servings of plain/FF/organic yogurt, 2-3 servings of low-fat cheese, 1 serving of greens (which still make my gassy...ugh) and 12 ounces of FF milk in a day. Docs both say that one serving equals 300mg of calcium, so I'm getting between 1800 and 2400mg of calcium with D plus what's in my multi-vitamins. I'm waiting for my surgeon to return from vacation so I can ask him directly if he still thinks I need another calcium citrate supplement. GP wasn't able to tell me if I am able to absorb calcium with 150cm of small intestine bypassed or not.
Other news....our container/patio garden is taking OFF...if the damn squirrels would quit eating my yellow tomatoes, I'd be much happier with it. We are planning a move into a house as opposed to a town home and are hoping to find something with some land to it, so I can build a greenhouse and grown my plants hydroponically during the winter seasons (we're talking about organic green/purple tomatillos, red, blue and purple heirloom corn, several different types of heirloom tomatoes, squashes, stevia, herbs and more) for our own use AND for my business as well. We'd also love to have a couple of dairy cows, chickens and the like. We have switched to nearly 100% organic and growing as much of our own produce as we can either here at home or at the nearrby farm that I work 4-8 hours a week in....in exchange I get a full produce box each week instead of coming up with $575 up front for a 23 week farm season. Erin found a new job at a VERY nearby computer firm called Aspen Systems...doing exactly what she went to school to do! After 4 years of working for our local Kroger chain, she was THRILLED to be hired on the spot. Money for the first 90 days is slightly less than what she was making (after four years) with King Stoopids, but she's off weekends/holidays and evenings, too! Her insurer is switching to Kaiser and she is planning on having WLS at the end of this year or early next year, too! She quit smoking TODAY for a multitude of reason (surgery being one of them). She has been so helpful in the IT parts of my new business, it feels so good to be supported by my wife in this new venture.

Congrats, you're doing a fantastic job! With all of the stress I'm so glad you're still losing.
If you check out Vitalady's website, she gives great advice on vitamin supplementation. You don't have to buy from her. She answers questions on here all the time, but right now she's away for the summer. I was super deficient a few years after RNY, and went into my revision that way. Just make sure you're taking Calcium citrate +D and not carbonate. I tend to buy it at places like CVS when they have the buy 1, get one deals.
For RNY:

For RNY:
iron (not ferrous sulfate)
Vitamin C
1500mg elemental calcium citrate
A (dry form)
D (dry form)
E (dry form)
zinc, 50mg chelated
B12 (sublingual)
Maybe potassium or magnesium, based on the first set of labs
