Really Depressed
I have been lurking around here for a while now but never posted. Had no real reason to I guess. My life feels like it has taken a turn for the worse. I have lost over 125lbs since my WLS in July of last year and now I am running into the problem of losing to much weight! I cant seem to stop and I am now considered underweight. I am now dealing with the issues of loose skin. While it is not bad, its certainly not a flat chest and belly, lol, I want to run to the nearest plastic surgeon have everything pulled and tucked! Now my back is giving me problems and I might need ANOTHER surgery to correct the issue. Which is sad for me, because I had the surgery to help improve my back problems but they have only gotten worse.
And to top it off, my love life went to crap last night! People think it gets easier when they loose weight...it only becomes that much harder.
How do you deal with the depression and problems that life throws at you? I am taking all sugestions!

Are you exercising? I know you're underweight, but exercising helps in so many ways, not just to lose weight. When you exercise your body produces endorphins which makes you feel better. If that is not enough, see your PCP to see if you may need an antidepressant.
I have skin issues too, but I want to see what my body can do with the extra skin in the next year or two. It may tone up a little bit with increased exercise.

Ok this isnt for everyone but I am a firm believer in it...
When I get in a funk I take the time to re-reprogram, re-energize, re-focus..I do this by making a conscience (sp) decision to vent away my negative thoughts...I meditate and verbalize at least one positive thing to offset my negative thoughts. I tell myself where I am going to be and what I am going to do to counter the negative thoughts/aspects of or in my life right now..
I usually meditate in the shower lights off while sitting down and visualize negative energy flowing from my body as the water hits it and then visualize positive energy flowing into my body. I do this for several days in a row and before you know it my mind takes over and things get better...
Remember you mind does what you tell it to do just like a computer and you can redirect it...When your thinking positive...positive things start happeing and you start believing in yourself again. Then you start to get past these roadblocks and continue to feed off of your success not your failures...
You have accomplished so much and will continue to move forward if you let yourself...

Holic, the loose skin is a biggie! Totally freaked me out....but the weight will stop at some point and you will get some bounce back. You need to work out and get your protein in. Also if depressed go to counseling and a doctor....and save your pennies for ps in the future if still needed. Don't know how old you are ...some folks skin (especially if young) does sort of get better and building muscles can help with the look.
